Strength:

- Download rides directly through Gamin Connect app on iPhone via Bluetooth, so no need to plug in.
- Customizable training fields.
- Easy to read/navigate screen
- Heart rate monitor that comes with the package is excellent!
- Battery lasts for 8-10 hours (not sure exactly, I recharge every 1-2 weeks)

Weakness:

- Occasionally freezes while saving. Have not lost a ride yet, but did miss part of a lap because it got stuck and wouldn't start until it timed out.
- Navigation still needs some work, not as helpful as a real map (I guess that's why you pay more for the 810)

Upgraded from the 205 and have been extremely pleased with the 510. It has everything I want in a navigation unit with lots of useful data. The 510/Garmin Connect interface has been a bit frustrating, but recent upgrades seem to have fixed most of the issues I was having. The freezing while saving seemed to mostly occur while the unit was bluetoothed to my phone, so if you are in a must-save or save then start again (like warm up, then race) situation, connect after the ride.
