Strength:

clear display, easy to use

Weakness:

the unit refuses sometimes, just like that

I have two units of the velo 8 for about 1,5 year.
It's quite frustrating that the unit falls out just like that.
Especially on rainy days.
I bought the velo 8 because they are connected with a wire.
Just to be sure to obtain a correct measurement!
So far no reaction from cateye on this issue ....

Strength:

-Cheap
-Easy to use
-Automatic pause when you stop

Weakness:

-Doesn't work when it rains
-Non-wireless (at this prize it's normal)
-Calories counter absolutely useless and unaccurate

Not a bad choice if you just want to know how far you've gone, and at what speed, and if you don't like to get wet when riding.

Strength:

simple to use with 1 button, large display, calorie counter

Weakness:

won't work when raining, calorie counter seems not that accurate

This is an affordable bike computer with wire. Since I bike to exercise the calorie counter helps, although I believe I have burned more calories than what is shown on the display. Like what the previous poster mentioned, the unit does not work when wet. To remedy it I use a small zip lock bag to "water proof" it.
