I bought my first MTN bike at Caster's Specialized 29er SS Rockhopper. Since the bike was not in stock I was told it would be at the shop in about one week. Two weeks later they call and tell me that my bike arrived and was all set for me to take delivery. I drive the 30 minutes to the shop obviously very excited to pick it up. The dude comes around the corner with my bike in hand only this bike had gears. I tell him "thats not my bike!". Obviously there was some sort of mix-up and I was not too pleased. One week later I get the correct bike and before I leave I pick up an E13 bash guard on the way out. Drive the 30minutes back home and try to install the bash guard and lo and behold it doesnt have the longer screws with it to attach to the chainring. I call the shop up and they tell me that they have the screws but I would have to drive back and grab them. There is actually a few more frustrations that go along with this story but in the end this experience helped me to make the easy decision to NEVER do business with them again. Within only one year of my initial purchase I made the decision that MTN biking was my thing and found a much better bike shop (Blackstone Bikes) where I have done all of my business including the $thousands$ that I have spent on very high end full suspension rigs.

Many have probably had better experiences with Caster's however I will never go back!!

Better luck elsewhere!!

HOLLA!!

Customer Service

Australian guy that works there was not very bike savvy.

Their spring "sale" is not as good as you may be led to believe. Support the smaller shops who have riders who happen to work on bikes and not salesmen who say they ride bikes.

Honest shop

Customer Service

I took my 40 year old Gitane in to be repaired/cleaned up. After looking at the bike and talking
to me, mechanic told me it would cost over $400.00 to properly repair AND in his opinion my
old bike wasn't worth close to that too heavy, poor components compared to today's, etc. I appreciated his straight-forward approach and honesty; I donated it to Providence center for
kids without bikes-right thing to do for December 2011 Christmas season.

I'll shop there again.

Caster's is the only good bike shop in RI. Hands down. The owner Reed.Caster has been in the bike business a very long time. Great people who know BIKES!!! The service is top notch with Anthony. He is a great bike mech. Having owned his own shop plus he has been riding MTB, DH,FR for 18+ years so its safe to say he knows his stuff.
