well the shop is always nice and tidy and I'm always greeted with a hello. I usually use danscomp but when I need things quick I come to B&H. Everything's good up until you want them to work on your bike... I bought a new bmx bike there and one of the guys said let me check it over and make sure everything's working right. I then got home to find out the brakes didn't work. I had to fix it myself. Then after the 30 days I brought it back in to have them check it out like they said they would. The front hub was a little loose and I wanted a new chain put on so approximately 20 minutes worth of work. The guy said 45 minutes. We couldn't get it the next day so we picked it up on Monday. we called ahead of time and told them to make sure its ready for us to pick it up and they said ok. Once we get there I go to check over the bike and noticed the seat was raised super high, the brakes yet again were waaayy to tight, the new chain was on way to tight also, and worst of all the front wheel was barely on. It was so loose I was able to take the bolts off by hand without any trouble. Also as I was waiting for him to fix the wheel I heard/watched him drop a wrench on a bike that they were working on.

Customer Service

Great, as long as you don't let them touch your bike.

The shop is always clean and they have the parts I need. I purchased my Sypriss DX there and love it. I had a bunch of accessories added and they were all in stock at reasonable prices.

Customer Service

Customer service was great. The guys know what they are doing and made me feel comfortable even though I had no idea what I was doing (my last bike was a ten-speed box store bike in high school). They put all of my accessories on (light, water bottle holder, computer, and fenders) with no problems and were happy to explain everything that I needed to do to keep the bike in good working condition. I saw some of the negative reviews, but this was not the case at all. My mom also bought her bike from them and had the same great service that I did.

Just finished a 2 hour workshop with Raj assiting us with general maintenance on our bikes. Excellent service and very patient with our questions and learning. We worked on various options to improve performance on our bikes for better climbing and general road speed.

Customer Service

Anytime we enter the shop, we are greeted with a kind hello and what can they do to help. We could order parts and accessories from other stores (on line or another bike shop) but prefer B&H because of their dedication to provide us with the right accessory that meets our needs - not just selling focused.

We have purchased 4 bikes from B&H over the years - road and mountain bikes. We recently moved to recumbent and while B&H are not recumbent dealers, they have assisted with various questions and bike maintenance.

I have used this shop a few times and always end up regretting it. My final experience happened a few weeks ago when I noticed my bottom bracket had a little play in it. I didn't want buy a tool I would only use once and it had been several years since I had a professional do any work on my bike, so I took it in. I looked up the model number and dimensions and had that information when I brought the bike in. They were booked a ways out, looked at the calendar and gave me a date about 10 days later when it would be done, which worked out well it was two days before heading out of town to my favorite riding area. They called me again the next morning, gave me a couple replacement options and prices, made my choices, so far great. Ten days later I get home from work and call the shop to see if I can pick it up. Well, 'the Shimano bottom bracket on my 03 Epic is obsolete and none of his suppliers carry it, so he's waiting on parts.' A few more questions, and well it's quiting time and tomorrow he'll look into it some more and try and actually order the part. Hang up get online and find the part and tool and order it in 10 minutes. Call the shop back, No answering service/machine, just rings for awhile then hangs up on you. Call in the morning tell him for get it I'll pick up the bike. Send my wife in to pick it up, they give her lots of attitude and give her the bike in pieces. I get home from work no pedals no cranks no bb. Go back into the shop and the manager stays back in the shop and makes the old guy at the counter take the heat, he looks around for 10 minutes and then says, my wife misplaced them they sent everything home with her, but if it is lost he'll make me a good deal on replacement pedals, a yeah right... Just as I'm pulling out he comes running out of the shop with all my lost parts. Needless to say I didn't ride that weekend. Why they took it apart without anything to repair it with I'll never know. Previous experiences were similar, work not done when they said it would be and shoddy quality once.

Customer Service

I hate to have to write this but after my 3rd+ similar experience it must be done. Ive been to Bike-n-Hike in Albany a few times over the past few years and received the same treatment every time. That is, as if its my fault I have a problem with my bike and I’m an idiot etc. Almost as if they don’t believe you when you say “here is what happened” etc. I assume they have some talented bike mechanics here but it doesn’t matter if you leave feeling like it was a real pain for them to have to deal with you. Customer service is critical in the bike shop business and I would never recommend a shop where you feel stupid asking basic questions and being ignored. I feel taken advantage of and will never return. There are a couple of folks (at least in the past) that have worked here that didn’t treat people this way. Get them back!!!!!

The only real question is why I have given them multiple chances so many times. Guess I want to see a different outcome. The same shop in Corvallis has incredibly helpful with friendly staff. The Albany shop has been convenient for me as I work in Albany but live in Corvallis. With so many amazing bike shops in Corvallis I have no idea why the heck I have ever gone here. Well, I sure won’t anymore. Save yourself the hassle and drive the extra 20 mins to Corvallis.

Customer Service

The primary reason I wont ever return.

The showroom setup is awesome with a super selection of bikes and accessories for all ages. I found a great variety and very reasonable pricing.

Customer Service

Although I read somewhat negative reviews on customer service, I can only think that it was for a different shop, or someone was having a bad day. I found, and continue to find the two gentlemen (Dick and Jason) I had the pleasure to work with, courteous, helpful, and extremely accommodating going above and beyond to be helpful. In fact, though I am on a very limited budget, I will buy only from them when I need products/supplies/service. It may cost a little more, but they are worth it.

Decent selection of bikes. Decent selection of parts. Shop setup is impressive.

Customer Service

Most of the time I get very crappy customer service from this shop. Prices on parts are most times over-priced. Most of the staff at this location make fun of my choice of bike (Cannondale, raleigh) because I either didn't buy it from them or they don't sell that brand. Sometimes I get ignored even after being there for longer than a half hour. Staff don't seem to know how to work on the bikes correctly.
