High Desert Bicycles - Bikeshops, Rio Rancho, Mexico

DESCRIPTION

Our Rio Rancho bicycle shop is our founding location, where we had the opportunity to create the High Desert Bicycles experience; over the years, we have continued to refine and fine tune, as the community began to express brand preferences and help us identify the strongest areas of interest in terms of riding style, price range, and service needs. We really appreciate our growing team of customers, who recommend us to their friends, rely on our expert technicians for service, shop our outstanding selection of accessories and supplies for even better riding experiences, and think of us first when they are ready to upgrade their equipment as their riding skills and ambitions advance.

I've always been extremely pleased with all the staff at this shop .Ive routinely stopped by with flats to the point they called me the ( the flat master).they have literally dropped what their doing to get me back on the road.Jeff and Vince have always been top notch with me.Having said that Ive recently made a bike purchase for my daughter and John k should not be talking to repeat customers, hes rude lectured me about the price. It was the worst sales experience I've had in a long time.

Customer Service

In my opinion they're excellent little Vince ,Tyler and the rest of the staff.

Customer service sucks.

Customer Service

Let these guys work on my Surly LHT a couple of years ago. The owner literally insulted me and raised his voice while taking my money. These guys are a bunch of self-impressed world class jerks catering to the $10K mountain bike crowd. Would never do business with them again and hope they go broke. Stay away.

I have been in the shop several times and I must say I will not return!

Note to shop owner, your shop reputation is not among the best. Specialized will keep you afloat but bad customer service will ruin 25%-40% of your bread and butter.

Customer Service

Sucks, I went in on a Saturday winter (not busy) day wanting to buy a headset and get it installed. Jeff wanted me to wait till tuesday to get the headset pressed into the frame and the race on the fork. This task takes less than 5 min. Take note that there were 4 guys "chillin" in the back. Any shop that does business like this sucks. This happened in January of 2011

I worked for a local shop for about 3 years and we always took care of small on the spot tasks such as headset installs and flat repairs so we could get out customers back on the trail.

Also these guys must be getting some serious "spiffs" from Specialized because you can go into the shop with out getting a specialized product pitched into your face. I wanted some pearl izumi windproof gloves and the guy was determined to sell me the comparable specialized gloves. But as I don't like the body geometry gloved i wanted the pearl izumi model. This was the last time I will ever return to the shop unless I need something really really bad to get on the trail. Please note that this shop is a block away from my house and i will gladly drive to bike works (20 min one way)to get something. This happened in November 2011

The only thing this shop has going for itself is Specialized. The big box bike brand will keep them afloat.

Explanation of my ratings
Customer Service
Jeff has a bad attitude, i had $$$ in my pocket wanting parts and service and he wanted me to wait when there were plenty of shop hands sitting on their ass doing nothing.
Technical Expertise
You would think that someone could install a headset. Everyone in the shop herd me politely ask if they could press the headset in for me. Nobody volunteered so i am assuming that nobody knows how to do it.

Overall Rating
You get my drift!!!

I hope the owner reads this. I know him personally and he is a good person. I actually worked with him @ Albuquerque Bicycle Center. He knows better than to run a shop like this.

Pretty nice shop. Well stocked with big S merchandise if that's what you're looking for.

Customer Service

Horrible. They'll help you spend your money, but don't expect them to stand behind the sale.

Avoid High Desert Bicycles if at all possible. There are many other reputable shops to choose from.
