This is an excellent bike shop. It's small, but mountain bike specific, with cross, hybrids, cruisers, and kid's bikes as well. They have a good selection of components, clothing, and accessories. Customer Service I always get prompt, friendly service when I visit. The sales staff seem to take a personal interest in my needs, and the technicians out in back are outstanding and always available to answer questions. It's very easy for me to be loyal to this shop. When I bring any of my bikes in for repair or service, I feel like they make the effort to get me back on the trail as soon as possible, and I am always satisfied with the quality and cost of the work done. Similar Products Used: I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to buy a bike or have theirs repaired or serviced. |

Good selection of bikes, parts and accesories. If something youo need is not in stock they have a quick order cycle so they can usually have it in a matter of a few days. Customer Service Not worth the visit. Sadly the one reason to visit a LBS is the quility of the service, and ABS consistantly sends me looking for something better. Case in point: Out on a ride this last weekend and thought i had some ghost shifting. Chainged gears to no effect, and the problem quickly got worse to the point where the freehub was spinning in the wrong direction. I coasted and walked back to town. I stopped into ABS to check on serviceabiliy of the hub and see if I could pick up the needed parts. I was told flat out that is wasn't the freehub it was my "gears". Without even looking at the bike the guy misdiagnosed it and attempted to take it for a test ride. In the shop still, he stands up on the pedal and the freehub pops free and his shin suffers from his cluelessness. He tosses the bike to me and limps it off saying "it's your gears". I disagreed haveing had a 45 minute trip back to town fully understand the nature of the failure. He requested a second opinion from another mechanic that was the same as the first. Got home and measured chain stretch (fine) and examined drivetrain (fine). Pulled apart the freehub and found the star ratchets chewed up. Thanks guys! |

this place is amazing with a great selection on xc bikes to fr/dh to dj bikes to cruiser's or 29er's! i have been supporting them for 2 years about now. they have great friendly employees just waiting to answer any question you have on your mind. the mechanic's are really quick and nice too. i have got to know the management pretty well. they have brought me on rides and taught me a lot about how to manage your bike and what the world bike news is. they also have an amazing component gallery. they also give you free tune up's after you buy a wheel set, whole bike, etc. Customer Service speechless Similar Products Used: if you have toddlers come in the also they have doggies there to entertain you! |

The shop is decently laid out, design wise. They do stock a lot more freeride/DH gear than most shops, have good pedal selection, especially flat pedals. Many high end bikes. Customer Service In my experience, absolutely horrible. While some of the staff are very knowledgeable about mechanics, there is a very snob attitude. The advice I've gotten has all been given without much understanding of what I already knew. I once changed the oil in my fork. walked in, asked if they had the Fox 7 wt. oil.. no. asked the mechanics if there were any special tools i would need, they said "we are here to fix your bike, not tell you how". I repeated the question only to be told they didn't carry any of the tools i would need. I got all my answers from a friendly tech at Sprockets, a few blocks down. They told me exactly what I'd need and where to get it. Sprockets is very helpful if you do your own work. If you like spending money and having things explained as if you were five years old, ABS rocks! |

From the moment I saw the shop from the outside, I felt that they were very professional. The way they arranged the bikes also appealed to me. They seemed to have stocked everything in the right place so that I didn't have to look all around for something that I needed. The shop is clean and uncluttered even though there's always a big, cute and freindly dog behind the counter. The dog makes for more comfortable atmosphere. Customer Service John and Lindsay helped me with the purchase of my bike and they helped me in so many other ways. They also gave me a lot ofH good advice. John carefully described important bicycle-related concepts and facts that I wasn't aware of. He also made me aware of so many potential mistakes and problems that can occur when riding a mountain bike. The mistakes and problems might have hindered my enjoyment and safety if he hadn't made me aware of them. Another Bike Shop isn't just there to make a profit, they really care about the customer and customer satistfaction is at a premium. I always felt comfortable talking to John and even calling him up for any question or problem that I had. He never seemed too busy or disinterested to help me. I had several choices of buying a bike at other shops but I'm glad that I chose Another Bike Shop. John went beyond just selling me a bike and answering questions. Because of his help and the shop's caring attitude, I feel that this has been one of the best purchases in my life compared to all other major purchases I have made in the past like buying a car and motorcycle. Similar Products Used: There's an almost laid-back attitude and friendly atmosphere. I never felt pressured. It seems that the staff knows when to help you and when to just leave you alone. They're not intrusive and they don't pressure you to buy anything; they respect your space. They also follow up on their promises and they seem to know all the technical stuff related to mountain biking. I think their attitude and knowledge is based on the fact that they also enjoy mountain biking themselves. John and Lindsay were able to explain really technical stuff in a very understable and simplified manner. Another Bike Shop is truly another bike shop and their name fits the shop's philosophy and attitude. |
