Well organized shop, staff are helpful even to the guy that goes in there way too often.

If I were to get really picky:

Website can be goofy at times. For instance, if you go to their website right now and go to components > handlebars and looked around, you wouldn't see anything by Race Face or Answer-but they carry bars by both companies. They just recently began selling these, but this has happened with a few other things. It doesn't bother me, as I go in there and buy things rather then order it online-but I think that it could help them with online sales. I also noticed that sometimes things are listed as in stock when they are not and are listed as not in stock when they do have them.

Customer Service

Customer service is great. Talking with them on the phone is pain-free. All the guys I've spoken with on the floor selling things seem to know enough about bikes. The mechanics themselves are great guys. They helped my friend out a good deal and all of them seem to be very knowledgeable guys.

There are people there that know road bikes and there are people there that know mountain bikes. It isn't like walking into Walmart and asking about bikes. They aren't all geniuses, but a number of them seem to do "their homework" on knowing about what is coming along in the market et cetera.

Very helpful on warranties-they like to keep a good reputation to their name.

Not entirely flawless, like all things:
I did recently encounter troubles with a chain tension system that they installed. The bolt on the pulleys wasn't secured properly and came undone while riding. It didn't snap or anything, it just fell out. It got warrantied by the company that produces it though, so all is well. With all the other bits of help, I wouldn't say it brings down the companies reputation. They do a lot of great work and have friendly people working there.

I only shop online form Art's bacause I'm from the east coast; I love their website full well structured, fast and full of info.
They also have a wide and well sorted selection of popular items for all riders. The only flaw is that two times over the last three purchases I made one item was listed in stock but actually it wasn't. Anyway Art's team called me to arrange the best solution and made it happen.

Customer Service

As I said above, the customer service is prompt to work w/you if any problem arises. Never had experience with a return so I cannot argue over anything on their policy/service (website is very useful when you choose your item that it'll be difficult to miss the right one).

The shipping rates are based on your purchase amount and the ground free shipping is at $50 so very easy to achieve.

I have ordered online from Art's once before, but the most recent time was a great experience. I needed a couple of hard to find parts for a trip that I was leaving on the next day. I saw on their website that they had them in-stock, so I gave them a call as soon as they opened. They had no problems shipping them to my office so that I could get them early the next morning. Everything went very smoothly.

Customer Service

Don't hesitate to call Art's if there is something they have that you need ASAP.

I was about to order a bike from Bike Depot when I came across a deal online from this store. It was an easy sell with free shipping, no tax for shipping outside California and a great price. The order process was a bit odd as they wanted to "test" my credit card with an amount less than $5 as I was ordering from Canada. Despite this the sale concluded in a day. I ordered my bike Friday and it arrived the following Wedcnesday. Outstanding delivery time!

Customer Service

I called for some assembly instructions. The staff were only somewhat helpful but very eager to please. The bike arrived packed for shipping by the store. The packing was immaculate. Near bullet-proof packaging. The bike included assembly instructions that were somewhat generic and didn't entirely apply to my bike. The instructions stated an assembly video was available on their website. This too was pretty generic and not wholly applicable to my bike. I struggled with a couple of aspects of the assembly but eventually figured it out.

I ordered online so I wouldn't know.

Customer Service

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered two tires and they said they had two in stock. Later, they emailed me after they had processed my order and said they could only find one of the tires. They offered to upgrade the tires to a tubeless version that were $8 more a tire for free. I was fine with that since I could still use the tubeless. The next afternoon, they called me and said that they had found the second original tire that they thought they didn't have. They asked if I wanted the two originals (I did because they were more lightweight). Then, the guy told me because of all the troubles, they would upgrade my shipping to 2nd Day Air (They're in California, I'm in South Carolina) for free. Absolutely awesome!

Art's is the most organized, most professional shop in San Luis Obispo. Yes, perhaps there might be an elitist vibe, but thats typical of most high end bike shops. The only bad thing about them are their prices.. CBO usually is quicker to hash out a deal and hook it up at a reasonable price. But Art's usually comes in second.

Customer Service

Every time I've been in there, they have been great. They really know what they are selling and they have always helped me out right away.
