Cool little shop with a real neighborhood bike club feel.

Customer Service

Top notch service from everyone in the shop, whether you are buying lube or a whole bike.

Seven years ago, when this shop opened, I was building up a bike (SC Superlight) and needed help with the headset installation. I was fully prepared to pay whatever shop rates applied to doing the work, having bought the various pieces elsewhere. But Chris installed it at no charge and even ordered a replacement part that I had managed to destroy in my previously failed effort...at no charge to me! The service has remained at the same exemplary level as my original experience. Since that original visit, I have bought my last three bikes at the Mouse (most recently replacing that Superlight with a Mach 5).

Roaring Mouse stocks everything that I need and carries the brands that I like. What more could I ask for in an ideal neighborhood location.

Customer Service

I'll relate this to the story I posted as follows:

Let me just say that I wanted to find a cross bike at a good price, and I pretty much went to most of the bike shops in the city big and small. When I first stepped into this shop, I was met by Shaun who talked to me about what they had in stock and what I should be looking for in a bike. He walked me through the inventory and picked out a Felt F1X. Before letting me loose on a test ride, Chris put me on the trainer and walked me through step-by-step of the 105 shifters. I only knew the basics at the time with an even shorter intro by Mike's, but Chris made sure I was comfortable and could do it with ease. I was fitted well before heading out on my test ride, and it was a breeze. They also had a Salsa La Cruz that I could test ride for a comparison between the steel and Felt's aluminum frame. After both test rides, I was ready to deal but I still had my heart set on a Cannondale CX and asked about pricing. Chris was straightforward, but offered a deal on the Felt. He told me not to rush my decision and told me to sleep on it and just give him a call when I'm ready. Talk about no-hassle sales experience. You just don't see that much anywhere else.

Anyways, I head home and begin to scour the internets to compare prices because that's what I do if you know me. It's always the grand chase for the deal, that special deal that will make me happy knowing I've won that day. Long story short, I ordered that Cannondale CX-9 online from Mike's with a coupon, cuz you know, coupons rock my world. I thought I had my deal and I was hesitant to tell Chris because of the awesome experience I had so I wussed out and just sent him an email since we had a continuing dialogue on the price. Flash forward another week, and I haven't gotten a status update from mike's, so I give them a call. Turns out they didn't order it until I called only to find out it wasn't in stock at the factory. Disheartened, I gave Chris a ring on the telly right when they opened and told him I was finally ready to commit to the Felt. He asked if I was sure this time after the initial hesitation, but I told him I could come in after work that day to put down the deposit. He then agreed to set things up with a recalled fork and guaranteed delivery by the end of the next day. Around 4ish, I get a call from Amy saying the bike was ready. I went giddy and realized I was smiling at myself in my cuby, so I counted down the minutes till I could go and rushed over there.

The Felt was immaculate and Chris set me up with all the beginner accessories I would need. I walked out of there completely joyous knowing I still scored that magical deal, but then I had to walk back in for my friend that showed up to look for a bike. He was given the same straightforward, honest approach in helping him find his bike by Chris while I waited patiently to go test out my toy. With a quick ride through the park, I felt totally accomplished so I then went to pig out on a beef dip, garlic fries, onion rings, and cheesecake. Twas a great day...

Like some of the best Chinese restaurants you will ever come across, this is an unassuming hole in the wall of a shop. But the ingredients are top notch, and the chefs in the kitchen really know their stuff.

Customer Service

Second to none. Having been totally underwhelmed by many SF and Marin shops, I found this place in 2006 and now would not take my bikes anywhere else. The mechanics are excellent (Charlie in particular) and the prices always reasonable. They have helped me out of binds many times. Best bike shop in the Bay area hands down.

Great shop for any type of cyclist. They really love bikes and do the best to meet your budget. They carry very high end bikes and know how to fix them. I bought my Titus there but I don't think you have to go high end to be a client. I now live in San Mateo but still take my bike to them.

Customer Service

I have been to several bikes shops in SF and no one comes close to their repair work. I wanted a new stem so they put on a used one for free so that I could get a feel for the size. I didn't get we order that size and put it on. They do anything within reason to keep you satisfied.

I like to go into Roaring Mouse just to breathe deeply and smell the bike love...it's small but crammed with goodies and the gang just seems to know what's best & keep it in stock. Much deserving of MTBR award!

Customer Service

Second to none. In fact RM basically defines what customer service should be but hardly ever is. They listen, they give great feedback, they take the time to get to know the customer and be proactive in supplying suggestions and ideas. You feel special in Roaring Mouse because they treat you that way. JD Powers should study these guys for their Customer Satisfaction index.

My first experience with Roaring Mouse was in July 2008 when I was trying to find an local SF shop that sold Knolly bikes. I was on the hunt for a Knolly Delirium-T and lucky for me, Roaring Mouse is the only Bay Area Knolly dealer. From my first meeting with Chris and Charlie (RM's big bike guy) through to purchase, build (by Amy the thorough mechanic) and subsequent servicing I've been impressed by their patience, thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and reasonable-ness. I recommend them to everyone I know. My write-up of the Knolly build I bought through RM is here http://forums.mtbr.com/showpost.php?p=4739572&postcount=23.

Superb shop with amazing customer service. It's a small space, but packed with nice frames and parts.

Customer Service

I had a bike built up for my wife, and they put together a great build on a very short time frame. They offered excellent advice on components and kept in constant contact regarding the status of the build. I really can't say enough good things about the level of customer service. Absolutely top notch. Special shout out to Chris.

Terrific customer service. When they advertise "no attitude" they really mean it. I came in with a problem that I caused (I ordered a mis-fit part over the internet) and they bent over backwards to help me out.

Customer Service

Very knowledgeable, friendly and not pushy. Very patient for wanna-be mechanics like myself.

My favorite shop (and also the one closest to my house). Yeah, they're tiny and yet they still carry two road brands ridden in the tour, Felt and BH, which also happen to be the two most cost effective brands you'll find for high ends road bikes (in my opinion of course, though they are the lowest priced tour bikes out there).
