Oh man it's hard to write but it's kinda true, these people don't have the friendly vibe to make you wanna buy more. I come here allot simply because the group I ride with meets up at this shop and because I take full advantage of the one year free maintanance thing. You would think they would know your name by now after going so much but I guess customer service is not a main priority. To bad this place could be a great bike shop.

Customer Service

I wish I could say great but its more like blahh.

Pasadena Cyclery sells alot of cool accessories. It's the kind of place you could spend quite a bit of time browsing in.
But if I wanted to be treated like crap I would have bought a new car.
I expect better from a bike shop.

Customer Service

I'm torn on this one because I reaIly liked the mechanics but once they got my money, I was treated like a second class citizen by the sales team including the owner.

I had repeated problems with a bike, went through two frames, and had to go three months without a bike while the shop just left me hanging.

When I got the bike back, I was charged for the warranty replacement.
After the first two rides on the replacement, I found that the bike was little more than "Mickey Moused" together.

I will not go back to Pasadena Cyclery.

I went to another shop (Valley Bikes in Newhall) that sells the same brand (Trek), and they treated me more like a valued customer than the people I actually bought the bike from. They hooked me up with what I needed to make the bike work properly at prices I could not have even hoped for.

Guess who will be getting my hard earned cash in the future.

Ive been visiting this shop for years as I had depended on my bike for transportatin in the old days. They do fantastic tune ups, where my bike feels brand new after they are done. They don't skimp here. I guess they do have sales but Im not about the flash and bling of it, so I don't buy that stuff.

I have read reviews on this store before and many people have complained about the attitudes of the people here. Not that they necessarily have attitudes, its just that they act very uninterested. When I used to go in here, I began to develop this theory about the people who worked there, because I noticed their detached manners. I began to make a connection to their detached manner and their bike seats. Let me explain, waaay before it was discovered that bike seats were interferring with mens sperm count and sex drive, I had noticed a decided drop in interest from all these men in the shop. I had this feeling it was connected to the bikes they rode and probably the bike seats. It took YEARS before I heard they had discovered this, and that completely explained that odd, "neutered" nature they always sported. Extrapolating it further, I just find that they are rather distant, although perhaps initially cordial, its almost as though they don't like working there, and it shows. Its just all very odd as a friendly staff is what keeps me going back for more no matter what the product or service!

Customer Service

I recently came back for more service, they have two new people there that I have never seen before. They are nice and were helpful. I saw the owner, or at least the guy thats been there forever, he barely looked up from what he was doing when I said hello and indulged in some verbal chat. It was disheartening. They all act like they are afraid of me. The guy that helped me, although new, could hardly look me in the eyes. I was wondering if he was shy, or just was incredibly lacking in social skills.

Either way their attitudes while initially cordial, end up pissing me off and making me feel like they couldn't even care less whether they got my business or not!!!

I think customer service is just SOOOO IMPORTANT. How about a "hello" and a look of interest. Can't you at least fake it a little? Its disheartening and the only reason I keep going back is that they do good tune ups, plus they are the closest bike shop to me.

I guess the manager or whoever he is can't hire FRIENDLY people as he himself lacks social skills. At least they cured the problem with the "neuter look" by changing the bike seat.. but maybe it just never changed them BACK into caring people again!!!

Sigh. I came in with a few problems and they wanted to fix everything at once and by the end of it I was being charged a whoop ass 100 bucks which could go to better things. Grrr. Im not made of money, but I guess Im not really helping them out by giving them the money, they act as though they could take it or leave it, that lack of interest is just almost creepy in a way!

Looks nice, had several good deals throughout the store.

Customer Service

I talked with Matt, letting him know that I was interested in a FOES XCT. I couldn't find a shop to get me a demo. Matt was the first to do the leg work to get it done. I picked up the bike at the shop, he walked me through the set up. Then we talked local trails. Great guy, great service, great experience.

This shop offers a great variety of bikes, brands, and although it is sort of small and not nearly as fancy as some other shops the staff more than makes up for it.

Customer Service

Employees are eager to help and always make sure you are satisfied even if they dont sell anything. Staff is aware if they dont have an answer and always make sure to get you the right answer no matter what. Service department is speedy and will do its best to help a walk in as fast as possible. Although service is usually backlogged a few days a busy shop means good mechanics so I am fine leaving my bike with them for a few days at a time.

Nice store layout not too cramped. Seems to have many low to mid range bikes. Great for newbies! They also have frequent sales on accessories. I got a blackburn frame pump for $10 off! I haven't tried their service so I really don't know.

Customer Service

Staff are nice and friendly. Don't see the "passions" when I speak to them. They seem to treat this as just a part time gig? Seems to overly rely on "manuals" when asked technical questions.

Th shop is alright. I walked in and saw bikes, apparel, accesories, the usual stuff you see in any bike shop really. I think that what really differentiates one shop from the other is the service and how the customer is treated overall. Hmm...

Customer Service

Does "non-existent" fit the description? Im going to agree with that last review 100%. I was in that shop for 15 minutes and didnt get one hint of consideration that I was even there. I walked up to the counter to take a look at parts and the guy behind it was practically right in front of the area I was looking at... simply walked away.

As I said earlier, what makes a shop is the service and overall atmosphere that the staff provides... I guess im just not into that whole ghost town scene.

Been there 2 times and both times the arogance in the room was to thick for me. Terrible attitude of the workers there, no one pays any attention to you, won't ask if you need help and when you do, It's like I'm waisting there time. Needless to say I didn't purchase anything that day and the great part is I WAS going to buy a bike. Took my business elswhere to Universal cyclery in Studio City.

Went on their website to search for some stuff and found it to be great! Lots of links to tech. questions and "how to" stuff. I figured it would be even better in person, since I only live 10 minutes from there. The shop is set up nicely and seemed user friendly but...

Customer Service

I went in there to ask about a maintenance clinic I saw on their site and to browse around. Some kid who looked about 15 asked if he could help me, and directed me to the "veteran" behind the counter. When I asked the "veteran" about the clinic, he didn't even bother to look up half the time to answer my questions. He was thumbing through a catalog. After one of my questions, he paused for a while, which I thought he was trying to find an answer to, but looked up finally to give me that "oh, you're still here?" look. In fact, he didn't have much answers about the clinic either, and said that they'll run it if it fills up, and I should just pay the $70 and wait for a response. I will never spend money there...ever.
