I ordered £78 worth of goods and cancelled delivery directly with the couriers and Joke E James as I could not afford to wait in for a number of days hoping that the goods would arrive. Basically I managed to get the things I ordered from another supplier actualy delivered while Joke E James were trying to get me to accept their delivery

3 months later Joke E James contacted me to report that I had not accepted the delivery, so I agreed to pay a restocking charge

3 months later I discover they still have not refunded my money

Next step is the trading standards office I guess....

the once a week option for me should be five days a week. i am a new employee of je james and i have witnessed huge improvements since january. opening a new warehouse just before christmas getting on top of stock levels and giving all items locations, getting all quantities right, on this fact if they can improve a little whilst dealing with all the tasks our number 1 priority is customers and we can now fully concentrate on this matter and speed up delivery service, customer relations will improve and the quality will keep rising.

Customer Service

obviously as a employee my customer service i must rate as great. i cycle to work daily and bought my bike from jejames. also my accessories back pack, tools, puncture repair kits. i do sometimes have to interact with our customers they have all been happy with the service they recieved. as for the harsh reviews we get on websites, we recieve more emails praising our service.

keep faith in jejames and dont give up on them, they are settling in new warehouse and getting much more stock in and becoming very organsied.
re-arrangement off staff is continous to get the right people in the areas.
jejames are not great but where there is space for improvement its something to aim for and that is our aim to keep improving.

Branches in Rotherham, Sheffield and Chesterfield that I've visited all in various amounts over the years (since 1997). Always a very good range of products from most of the main suppliers and cater from family bikes right up to high-end pro kit.

Sheffield shop has unusual arrangement of two stores across the street from one-another. One catering for leisure / families and the other for enthusiasts both road and mountain (Sports Performance Centre).

Very well know in area and well established with a long history.

Customer Service

Character of the three stores varies. Sheffield is often busy and service can be a little confused and distant in the 'Sports Performance Centre' if you are not a familiar face. The confusion is good for bargain hunting as there is an excess of discounted old stock, but make sure you have everything written and reciepted if you have any work done. The family side is much better and much more as you would expect, friendly and customer focussed if a little cramped.

The Rotherham store is bigger and alltogether better in terms of service. Having family and enthusiast, Road, BMX and Mountain under one roof makes the staff more approachable and broader minded. Good atmosphere, spacious, but still the same level of confusion and 'organised chaos'. Again, good for bargain hunting.

I've only used the Chesterfield branch a few times, but it was OK, similar to the Rotherham branch in many respects.

Clearly they know what they are doing because they have been around for so long. Good range, good customer service but chaotic and sometime hit-and-miss follow up often marres the experience. In this time of Internet Retailing it can often be a wonderful experience to simply brows, and JE James offers this in spades.

Being a proud Sheffield lad I would love to spend my money on-line with them, but their on-line experience kind of reflects the stores still, looks good but a little chaotic and confused. They need to get tighter and more professional to capitalise on this marked before it overtakes them. Thank you JE James.

PS Steve Peat Rocks!

Well the Chesterfield on is great, always answer the phone, always know what their talking about, always quick to phone back if they need to contact suplier. It's a nice big shop as well, close eonugh for me to travel to coz i don't like paying over the phone, or net. Kinda cheap as well... look on their internt site before you go down coz they don't update it to often, so i got £70 of a XTR crankset :)

Customer Service

Great, as i said they are fast and know what their on about.

3 stores with internet shopping

Customer Service

I have been stupid enough to order twice from this place from the internet so maybe that’s a reflection on me.

I have received some of the worst service I have experienced in my life!

Starting with the huge phone bill I’m sure I have run up. They have an automated service that asks to leave a message or hold. Leave a message and they will NOT get back to you. Stay on the line and its 20 mins minimum before they answer at which point there is a high chance they will hang up on you at some point (happened to me 3 times) they always seem to be having a laugh and a joke in the background when you do talk to them which begs the question why are they not answering the phone?

The delivery time is a joke. I called 7 days after ordering from their website to be told that the order may be “picked” today and then sent out in a few days. This is after having the order sat there for a week!

The deals they had were on were great prices but it turned out to be ex-demo which isn’t stated on the site.

Asked about sizing on some clothes and they couldnt answer any of my questions.

Thank god I haven’t had to return anything as I cant imagine how long that would take!

If you are not in a hurry to get stuff they are cheap but don’t expect to get any sort of service. As the out saying says “you get what you pay for”
