I ordered some Shimano XT components from Chain Reaction just before Thanksgiving. They have the best prices for Shimano and a wide selection. It wasn't until I purchased the items that I realized that Chain Reaction is in the UK and I'm in the USA. Other than knowing where CR is located, it made no difference... the parts arrived just as fast from the UK as they do when I order from US bike shop (Not to mention that the UK doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving so there was no shipping delay!) The order was 100% correct, the parts fit great, and I'm super happy with the price. I'm sure returns would be a hassle if there had been an issue, but there wasn't, so I'm a happy customer and will order from Chain Reaction again.

Large online bike retailer. Based in Northern Ireland, ship all over the world, with half their business going to Europe and the rest outside Europe.

Customer Service

Beware CRC - I just had a terrible customer service experience with them! They ran a misleading promotion and when challenged on it they reverted to typical Corporate-speak, completely inflexible and admitting no fault on their part. They may have started as an LBS in Northern Ireland, but are now apparently just another corporate-run mail order outfit with little concern for their customers. After my unpleasant encounter with them, I looked around the internet, and it seems like they undertake other unsavory practices, like selling take-offs/OEM stuff but not disclosing that fact up-front. I guess profit is paramount for these guys. You can likely do better elsewhere, starting with your local bike shop . . .

It's their way or the highway. You better hope everything goes smoothly, otherwise you are stuck with their oxymoronic "customer service." More like non-service, in my opinion. But hey, what are you going to do about it, unless you plan to get on a plane to Belfast . . .

Only shop there online. Recently bought a Dahon folding bike. It came as promised. They even shipped to USA for free. They are a very reputable shop and you get exactly what you see.

Internet Mail Order Only - to North America
Ordered most of the parts to build my Turner 5 Spot

Customer Service

Most important to me was the component I wanted, reputation of the provider, and price - in that order. In most cases CRC beat every other mail order service's pricing. About +80% of my order was in stock and shipped immediately. The stock status is plainly communicated on the website so I knew which parts would be backordered before placing the order.
An order exceeding $xx amount was no charge for international shipping. The +80% of the order arrived within a few days. An email was sent stating my order shipped with a customer code for the back-order pieces. I went to the CRC website and was able to track the back-order lead-times. When the back-ordered parts came in, they shipped to me immediately.
Customer Service was excellent - I would do business business with these guys again!

I don't know how these guys do it. Their pricing and shipping is competitive with U.S. based mail order companies and the shear volume of brands and stock is outstanding.

I was initially concerned about ordering internationally. I'm not concerned about that with this company. I'll probably order the volume of the parts for my next bike from them.

Seen CRC ads in several US MTB magazines and elsewhere online. The product selection is substantial and offer many brands not available in the US.

Customer Service

Website is easy to use. I really like the "in stock only" option that allows you to remove out of stock items from your search. Communication after the sale was great as well. I emailed CRC for an update and received a timely and accurate response with my order tracking number.

This is my first order form CRC and my first international purchase as well. I was a bit worried at first, since returns/exchanges would not be feasible on an international shipment.

I ordered some new riding gear including shoes. I know my size in Shimano shoes, so that worked out well. The order was placed on a weekend and shipped very fast. I received my order DHL within 3 days. Amazing!!! Order was packed well and 100% correct, no issues.

I still cannot believe how fast the order arrived in the US. I will recommend to others and order from them again when the DHL flat rate shipping makes sense. (Larger orders)

Quick, cheap and helpful

Customer Service

Good - they are helpful, although they have such a large stock they don't know everything. But they have got alternatives out of stock to check specifics for me.

Very fast - usually you order one day, and get the next - prices are good, and they pack it well.

I ordered two sets of Exposure lighting systems (which are great) to be shipped to the US. Upon arrival I noticed that UK style electrical Chargers were sent with my order, which will not work in the US. I contacted Chain Reaction to see why they didn't include US chargers beings though they were being shipped to the US? Makes sense right? After all, they make a big deal on their website about how they ship world wide. They told me that they carry chargers in stock that work in the US, and if I wanted some, they would charge me EXTRA for them...plus I'd have to pay for shipping as well. What I would like to know is why didn't Chain Reaction just swap out US chargers for the UK one's that were in my order? They clearly have them in stock. Should have made no difference, and now they have lost a customer.

Customer Service
