NEXT XC CRANKS
The NEXT crank represents another milestone for Race Face. Next cranks are one of the lightest, strongest 100% carbon fiber cranks ever made. Race Face has created a crank that goes beyond existing carbon material & process limitations, setting a new benchmark in performance XC components. NEXT combines over seven years of Race Face composite technology with over fifteen years of crank development, producing a carbon crank with an unparalleled strength to weight ratio.
- The arms are the result of over two years of intensive engineering & are manufactured in our British Columbia, Canada manufacturing facility.
- Race Face uses the same proprietary carbon material as the new Boeing Dreamliner. This aerospace composite material is available only in North America.
- The crank arms are completely hollow with all unnecessary material being removed from the centre core. The composite arms have no internal aluminum spine.
- By removing the centre core in the post curing process, our engineers mold at high pressure levels resulting in optimal material compaction & an overall lower void structure.
- Pedal & spindle inserts are co-molded & mechanically locked into place. This proprietary bonding process guarantees that they’ll never loosen or creak.
- Race Face Team chainrings are 100% CNC machined from super-hard 7075 aluminum to maximize wear resistance & impact strength.
- Chainrings feature our patented S.H.I.F.T. technology for lightning quick up-shifts.
- All 2008 Race Face XC cranksets feature our new “EXI” interface external bottom bracket system for easier crank installation and removal with standard tools and fully adjustable chainline.
- Next features a specifically engineered, superlight, forged and CNC machined CrMo BB spindle that is permanently moulded directly into the drive side crank arm to minimize weight and maximize power transfer.
- All alloy hardware keeps weight down and coolness high. Crank bolt puller cap makes crank removal a snap with just an 8mm hex wrench.
- Bearings feature our new custom triple wiper seal to better retain grease & keep contaminants out.
- Bearings are factory filled with Phil Wood waterproof grease – tested & proven to extend bearing life.
NEXT XC SL LOW RISER BARS
Designed using Race Face’s optimized carbon technology process, Next SL bars are an engineering master piece. All Next SL bars are manufactured with a leading edge composite weave, & a precise manufacturing process that allows us to reach our high strength requirements at a very low weight.
- Reinforced stem anti-crush zone minimizes the possibility of stress risers where the stem meets bar – the area in which most carbon bars fail.
- Daily destructive testing from each production run ensures each bar meets the exacting standards set by our engineers.
- The most advanced carbon bars available today.
- All SL bars are constructed from a high strength 3K carbon weave.
