brown cty reforestation camp mtb trls - TRAIL

brown cty reforestation camp mtb trls - Trail, Green Bay, Wisconsin

this trail is finally becoming a destination, w/ supposedly 7.5 miles of new single track, and possibly counting. the s trk is narrow & can get a bit technical in spots, but never more than higher intermediate grade. the double track sections are all beginner. a rather flat trail in general, but that new s track is fun as hell. the 'big hill' along Oaks ski loop is the most aerobicity you'll get out of this one otherwise; don't miss it. worship it & every track running from it.

This trail has become a great place to ride for two reasons. First there is a dedicated group of riders who take excellent care of the 10 miles of twisty single track. Second the single track often crosses the x-country ski trails so beginners can ride with more experienced riders. Nothing too technical just mile after mile of tight twisty moderately up and down single track bliss.

Customer Service

Get the trailmap at the trailhead where you pay your 3 bucks. Map is a little hard to orient to the trails but once you get started just stay w/the green signs.

I ride this trail a couple/few times a week since it's the closest to where I live. The loop is about 10 miles of mostly singletrack but with fire roads/ski trails mixed in. Fast and rolling. A good trail for training because you can really hammer and get into a flow. Those looking for a hardcore technical challenge might be disappointed. There are a couple of moderate climbs over roots, but nothing gut-busting. No rock gardens. For those new to riding, this is a great place to get into singletrack; for those more experienced, it's a nice trail to see how hard you can push. Trail is very well maintained and the lodge across the parking lot at the trailhead has bathrooms/changing rooms.

Customer Service

The trail is well-marked; follow the green signs for the singletrack.

The "camp" is a great place to ride for exercise. There are many different trails to ride on from single track to 10+ foot wide ski trails. None of the trails are very technical, but you can create a challenge by timing yourself on different loops ect. There is also alot of wildlife to be seen: turkey, deer, pheasant... I think it's a great place to ride.

Customer Service

Go where ever you want, there are maintence trails surrounding the park that will bring you back to the parking lot or to a surrounding road so there is no need to worry about getting lost.

I rode the trails last night after a week of rain and they were in fine shape...I thought that the markings were abundant. White for two track/Green for singletrack. Simple. The nicest singletrack is from B2 to the outhouse/leantoo, called Divas Ridge. Do not judge the camp until you ride this stretch both ways....Ride on

Customer Service

Divas ridge, and the figure 8 at timetraial pace....good luck

The singletrack trails at the Brown County Reforestation Camp are beginner level at best. I have been there a few times and still haven't found them all yet. The trails are poorly marked and the two maps that they have at the trailhead are different, so you will have to spend your time exploring. But, it is the closest trail to my house, so I can't complain. I have been there a few times and have never seen another rider. The new singletrack that was added this year is still very bumpy. There is a $3.00 fee to ride, which is worth it because the money is used to develop more singletrack.
