Plymouth Hollow Trail - TRAIL

Plymouth Hollow Trail - Trail, Bancroft, Virginia

The first 2-3 miles of the trail is actually a wide access road for dozers and timber trucks. Take every left available, including following the creek bed for a short distance. (A topo map of the area is very valuable). Eventually, the trail turns to single track, and heads up a steep, long, rocky ascent which ends by intercepting a side farm road, which directly connects to Route 34 (Red House Hill) directly by the Route 34 Fire Department.

This trail sucks from neglect,it was a cool place to train back in 99 but no one rides there now and its all grown over. Too bad theres not enough interest to do some trail maintance

This trail was recently bulldozed by utility companies (August 2001), but still offers a good ride. The uphill is now freshly bulldozed also -- but still tough. The switchback singletrack offers a nice break from the bulldozed sections before the monster decent. The ride down is extremely fast and long (almost 3 miles!).

Customer Service

After a mile or so, there is a huge split in the trail. Only those wishing a huge climb should go right, all else take the left fork. Either way, you will find that the trail actually makes a big circle back to the split.
