Beacon Hill - Trail, Spokane, Washington

Beacon Hill - Trail, Spokane, Washington

DESCRIPTION

There are many miles of fire/jeep road and trails. We are constantly maintaining and building trails. This is basically a small mountain / large hill that offers the most techinical riding around!! There are also great beginner and intermediate trails. The trails all join and split often but a 18 mile loop can be made. Generally year-round riding, but spring and late fall are excellent. Someone needs to get a map out there. I am pretty new to riding in town and i have spent most my time in 5 mile. I like to climb but a heads up about what i was getting into when I started going up. The ride down was well worth it though.

My friend and I rode east from downtown, took a fire road up the hill and shot down some trails that came out mini ha-ha climbing area (I think that was Beacon Hill). The climb was enough to get you out of breath, it seems that there are many paths down We didn’t know what we were getting into when we started. The downhill was pretty intense, but also a lot of fun. I was on a Giant AC, which was up to the task, but I didn’t envy my friend on his Wall-mart Mongoose. He broke some stuff on his bike and had to walk/slide down too the bottom. I took one good flight over the handlebars, but I was lucky enough not to land on anything pointy. I’m sure there other routs down the hill, but if you don’t know where you are going, be ready for a pretty hairy descent.

great fun! the rout we took started on a gravel road then turned into a trail and climbed 5 miles to the top. That climbing was HARD!but I've never had so much fun on a bike when I was coming down. you could go so fast, but watch out, there is so many sharp negative-camber dusty corners that I had to do a skid turn on most of them. I was riding a 30 pound Jamis Dakar 1.0 2006 with 5.0 inches of travel.

Best trail system in the northwest. It doesnt have to be ridden on a full downhill bike although it would be nice. I rode it on a proflex beast and Only got bucked over the handlebars ounce of a sixfoot drop. I highly recomend going there!

Downhill Trails-Be careful, these trails inspire local downhill courses that have sent racers home with their tails beteen their legs. Full suspension recomended but we do it on hardtails and rigid bikes.
Cross-country trails-These are steep climbs and sweeping downhills wich are gennerally reversed. Eric Carter rode here with us back in his Barracuda days and was interviewed by some mountain bike magazine to say. "Best riding experience was going to Spokane to ride with some locals at........ Then the next year we came back and did it again." If it's good enough for him...
The only problem is the fact that people dump trash on the hill. Most trails avoid it but this is not a real pretty mountain top sceene if you know what I mean.

Customer Service

My trail, just kidding. The KICK ASS, GOOD TIMES, ZIPPER, and BRAIN DAMAGE trails are all really fun. These are downhill only routes. But if you can ride up them, more power to you. The cross-country trails are all over and all are really fun also.

This is a good climb, good downhill, good all around. Look around off the trail and you'll find all kinds of cravy, technical trails. You gotta ride this place.

Customer Service

All of them are pretty good, but if you follow the single track to the top, the rest is kick ass downhill!
I can't wait for a dh bike!!!
