Rat Pack - Trail, Roslyn, Washington

Rat Pack - Trail, Roslyn, Washington

DESCRIPTION

Pedally DH with lots of turns. A few drops, jumps and skinnies. This trail is a blast, its not too hard or too easy and if it gets too easy you can just go faster. There are other XCish trails, but this is the best DH one in the area.

this area has a few good trails mostly geared towards cross country but all fun and some have some pretty fast descents in areas. Id recommend talking to local riders in Roslyn to find the best ones

i'm not sure when the last time you guys have ridden this is but as far as i know everything is pretty solid. I havent ridden it all the obstacles but i've walked them and know the guy who built them. Overall this trail starts with some twisty single track then turns speedy. SOme of the features include: log jump(12ft gap), train wreck(ride with speed up the side of a almost vertical hill turns to elevated and the to skinny and a drop)At the in is swooping turns and no braking.

Customer Service

Very smooth and fast trail, super well maintained, the term roller-coaster is not that far off. A little bit of everything on the way down this trail, from small gravity drop, to twisted singletrack through clearcut, it covers a lot of terrain. Easy to follow and really fast, even as wet as it was when I rode it. Quite a few man-made obstacles along the way, though to be honest most of them looked pretty poorly constructed so I passed. In terms of technical ability they were intermediate, they just were made with very thin pieces of wood and in weird locations with flat drops a lot of the time.

Either way in terms of sheer fun on the way down, this has easily been my favorite trail this summer. Great views from the top of the mountain too. Smooth and fast trail, with banked turns, lots of small ups and downs. Definitely worth the drive from Seattle.

Customer Service

We did the longer Roslyn route the first time up, and to be honest I didn't think it was really worth it. Id really suggest taking the shorter fireroad up as described here:

http://evergreenmtb.org/wiki/index.php?title=Trail:Rat_Pac

Still took about 40 minutes to climb, but the ride down is almost as long so well worth it. We were able to get in two climbs in one day, taking the shorter route the first time.

This trail is super fun!!!! Great for downhillers and freeriders. There are quite a few stunts to hit on your way down and easy routes for the beginners. The trail is very smooth and very well maintained. Super Fast!!!! Nice BMX style burms and jumps the whole way down. You may have to contend with the loggers and their little access roads that have been punched through small sections of the trail. Be civil with them, We are trying to be good nieghbors to keep the trail open. Plan this ride out for whole day, because it is way too much fun to only go down once!!!

Customer Service

The best way to do it is to shuttle to the top, make sure you go to the upper section (it is marked) because there are some really good log rides and drops up there. The gate is sometimes closed but it is still worth the 2+ mile ride to the top. about half way up, there is a little dirt pit on your left with some fun clif style drop offs and jumps, it makes a good mid way break!!!

This trail has something for everyone - some very hairy stunts (with bypass trails for beginners), lots of twists and smooth singletrack sections, very rollercoaster-like. There are some great jumps. Definitely where a full face. Some sections of the trail are poised beside sudden and rocky drops into ravines. Considering that the trail is so far outside civilization, it is a good idea to ride with others. Overall, this is my favorite trail in the western washington area. The views are awesome, the trail is well maintained, and it is really long - like 30 minutes to the bottom.

Customer Service

Impossible to miss, left off of the 90 and right at the T intersection in Roslyn - then an almost immediate left onto a non-paved road that continues for quite a while up the mountain. Sometimes the gate is closed up the mountain and you have to ride for quite a way to the head of the trail.
