SEASHORE STATE PARK - TRAIL

SEASHORE STATE PARK - Trail, Virginia Beach, Virginia

SINGLE TRACK AND SOME FIRE ROADS. SUPRISINGLY NOT FLAT FOR BEING SO CLOSE TO THE OCEAN. CAN BE A LITTLE SANDY IN SOME PLACES BUT MOSTLY HARD PACKED TRAILS

This trail is great for families, it is a pretty flat ride and kids can keep up with you. If you want technical trails go to the mountains.

I GIVE THIS PLACE A PRETTY GOOD FUN FACTOR. GREAT PLACE FOR A GOOD WORKOUT OR A RIDE WITH THE GIRL FRIEND. I LIKE TO PARK DOWN BY RUDY INLET AND CRUZ THE STRIP ON MY WAY TO THE PARK.

Customer Service

FIND THE TRAILS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF 64TH ST. THERE ARE SO MANY TRAILS IN THIS PARK BUT HALF OF THEM ARE FOR HIKERS ONLY.

Good place to take little kids. Flat and wide with nothing difficult.

Similar Products Used: If you want to pund the bike and body a little, go west. York River is the best place with a reasonable commute. Harwood Mills is about half the distance, but you need to try all three loops a couple times for a good ride.

THIS TRAIL IS REAL FLAT. THERE ARE UNMARKED BOOTLEG TRAILS THAT YOU CAN FIND IN THE BACK OF THE PARK THAT HAVE LITTLE UPS AND DOWNS. FOR THE MOST PART IT IS FOR OLD FOLKS!!!

Take this trail and there are some good ups and downs. Eventually you will come to a point looking down at the bay . . . very cool. This trail is posted for hikers only but during the chilly months it's not enforced as much. BE RESPONSIBLE and DON'T RIP UP THE TRAIL!! If you hit some really sandy spots, walk! Otherwise it will be enforced.

Customer Service

During the winter, go in the back way (64th st. I think) and go past the first parking lot. Keep an eye out for a trail heading up a fairly tall hill (for the beach anyway).

park on 76thstreet at the beach. ride in at 75th or74th street? (look for a 60'2 thunder bird) ride till the road deads in go between the poles on the right of the woods barely through someone's yard. take the trail up a hill ,croos the sand ride to the big drop of. go down it and follow the trail. its real good it comes out between the 1 1/2 and 2 mile markers on the running path. ride the rest of the trail till the boat docks turn around and ride back out. makes for a 10 mile loop. real good climbs drop offs obsticles. you wont get in any trouble either.

I will admit that the majority of the trail is rather flat and uneventful, but if you do a couple laps of it and keep your pace high, it can be a good workout. Just be careful because there tend to be a lot of runners, families with small kids, elderly folks, etc. on the trail. The park is very low, so if you want a wild ride, go after a major thunderstorm or hurricane, but plan on getting extremely wet and muddy and make sure you clean your bike off well afterwards. All-in-all, it is a decent trail to ride on the weekends for a workout. It is especially good to people new to mountain biking that want to get their feet wet.

Maybe I shouldn't add my review because it has been eleven years since I last road this trial. At the time I had not even heard the term mountain biking, and had only a $115.00 road bike from MW's. The park was very pretty, and would be a great place to take the kids and your grandmother for a ride. That is not a bad thing, and the kids are crazy about Grandma, but it hardly qualifies as mountain biking.
