Casto Canyon is one of my favorite rides - but I do the loop listed below .

This loop encompasses starts with some nice riding on the Pausagunt Plateau, some beautiful Ponderosa forests, and views of Casto Bluff. Following the Fremont ATV trail the road gets a bit rougher but is easily negotiable as it makes it way to the top of Casto Canyon. It is a quick down hill brings you to the top of the listed trail/ The single track down the canyon from here is technically challenging but not overboard. The ATV double track in the main canyon is easy and the views are spectacular.

It is one of the best loop rides in the area. It generally takes me 4-5 hours to complete. Pack a lunch and lots ofwater - you can refill and use facilities at the Red Canyon Visitor center.

Customer Service

I start at the top of the red canyon bike trail where it crosses the fremont ATV trail. Head north on the ATV trail/forest service road heading towar Tom Best Spring. The ATV trail turns off this road in a couple of miles and heads to the top of Casto Canyon. From there it is down hill to the Casto Canyon trailhead. Turn left for three miles to Highway 12 and left on the highway for a couple hundred yards and ride the Red Canyon trail uphill to the top of red canyon - completing the loop

Mellow, easy trail, with some climbing, some technical spots. Beautiful views of sandstone canyon. Coming back is just enough downhill to make it a blast! For more adventure, cross the road, and try Thunder Mountain

Customer Service

Starting from parking lot, this is an out and back trail. 5.5 miles one way, crosses a dry stream bed repeatedly. Avoid when wet. Just Plain Fun!

Not an overally hard trail or technical. First half is just climbing on an ATV trail with many stream crossings. Singletrack is short and sweet. Then in mesa area the trail goes up and down near a creek. Once your on the second half os Castro, it is all downhill on a fast ATV trail. The views are awesome. It felt I was in the middle of Bryce Canyon. A good ride for intermediate riders who loves a good climb and great views

Customer Service

Take Hwy 12, get on Castro canyon road north to the trailhead. Go on ATV trail climbing east. Get on singletrack. Get back on Castro Canyon ATV trail then onto Fremont trail heading north. Finally get back on Castro Canyon ATV trail all the way back to your car
