Tri-Canyon Loop - TRAIL

Tri-Canyon Loop - Trail, Manti, Utah

Continue to ride up the Main road. At 0.7 miles notice the split for Lowry Fork on your left (this is where you will return). Continue up the main road 7.4 miles to Skyline Drive. Turn left and continue down the beautiful 10,000 foot elevation Skyline Drive. At 10.2 miles you will pass above Jet Fox Resivoir. At 10.6 miles go left onto Lowry Fork/North Fork FS #046 (Forest Service Road #046). Start decending into the Tri-Canyon feeder basin and at 11.5 miles you will cross a cattle guard and hang a left onto FS #137. This starts a steep brake smoking descent down an old jeep road. The flowers in this glacial basin are spectacular in late July and August. At 13.3 miles the road splits and you will bear right, go 1/10 mile and cross a stream and turn left back onto FS #046. At 14.5 miles make sure you keep descending down FS #046 and don't get lost out on FS #090. At 16.3 miles you run back into the main Manti Canyon road. Descend 0.7 miles back to your car. This is a grunt of a climb and a steep technical descent, but the views and flora and fauna are spectacular.

If you want to get away from the crowds, this is the place to do it. The descent is open enough to descend like a maniac, but it has enough suprises (rocks, ruts, roots, etc.) to come home with a broken body or bike, so be careful.

Customer Service

Ride it just as it is described. It is a wide and easily traveled road on the way up, and a screaming technical descent on the way down.

Similar Products Used: Not a ride for the faint of heart. The road up to the top of Skyline drive is not techincal, but it is about 3000' of elevation gain ending at 10,000 feet. I also commonly see a ton of deer and elk on this ride. Note: there is also a campground at the resivor in Manti canyon -- $7 a night.

Serious epic!!!! Beutiful but a lot of climbing. The high basins are beutiful in late July and early August. Best of all there are no crowds. I was there on the 4th of July and only saw 2 ATV's and one sheephearder while riding.

Customer Service

Up the main road and back on any of the tri-canyon roads that drop to the bench and feed out to Lowry Fork.
