TC Jester Park Trail - Trail, Houston, Texas

TC Jester Park Trail - Trail, Houston, Texas

DESCRIPTION

Pretty nice, this trail surrounds TC Jester park. There is a drainage ditch that offers up some good uphilling and downhill experience. Watch for high water in the ditch.

This trail is perfect for family and leisurely rides. It will also serve the begginner and intermediate well. It is an excellent trail for people to get used to their bikes, get their legs and lungs started in an MTB regimen.

Customer Service

Start at the pool and ride north and follow the trail, pretty easy to follow.

This place is called the Big Dip by all the local people that grew up playing and riding motorcycles there. It used to be a major motor cycle trials spot but over the years it became to washed out and all the people that rode there grew up. It is small, but fun when its not muddy. It has some cool drop-ins and jumps but is not very technical. Lots of Mosquitos and maybe a few dead bodies.

If you Skate, check ou the EZ7, the Meat Grinder or Sunset Vally. These are all skate ditches within a mile. There not bad for BMX or jumping either. You can see the EZ7 from the 34th street bridge. Ask anybody ther where the Meat Grinder is at they will point north down the bayou.

Customer Service

Across the bayou from T.C. Jester Park, The wooded area left of the Slim Pit. Crack apartments are on the right side of the Slim Pit. No, it is not a walking trail. I grew up here

they usually have a "outlaw' race there in the winter and summer that's real fun. however the trail gets in real crappy shape during the fall untill the spring when people start riding it alot and working on it . overall it's a good ride if you want a change of pace.

Customer Service

across from the pool on the other side of the bayou. enter along the the big slimy culvert and follow the trail, the single track starts just to your right and is easy to follow by the orange markers on the trees every 20 yards or so. it's about a 6 mile loop an somewhat techinical in sections .

if you enterd of of watonga street cross the street bridge and follow the trail along the slimy culvert, to your right as you come up along the bayou (where the culvert ends) the single track starts. its real easy to follow the orange ribbons on the trees to your right every 20 yards or so. it twists it turns up down left right slow fast Etc..for about a 6 mile loop. the trails are so so in the winter "not a lotta traffic" however it gets in good shape in the spring and summmer they have an "outlaw sweatfest race" every june after the texas norba spring series. that attracts a lotta riders. so it gets in shape then, untill the crappy fall/winter weather floods it out.

Customer Service

across the bayou from the t.c. jester pool "you can't miss it"

Fairly tight course with no major danger points.Good spot to practice skills without getting injured. High traffic on weekends. Muddy after rain for extended periods. Lots of opportunity for concerned riders to carry out plastic bottles or cans; I always carry out at least one item for each loop. Beginner to intermediate level trail.

This is not really much of a trail. A new concrete bike and hike trail was put in and is nice to ride just for the exercise so you don't have to battle cars, but you must always be on the watch for people walking. The trail goes from Pinmont all the way to 11th street. There is a cinder track from 43rd to the rail road tracks that you can ride too.

I spent a few hours cleaning up the storm damage this past Sat. and the trail is 100% rideable. It has some really cool sections but it needs about 4 people to sweep thruough as a work crew and chop some face slapping twigs and branches to make it rideable at speed. Check it out. Bring your machete and contribute a little sweat to what could be a really cool place to ride.

Customer Service

Park @ pool with the big high dive on tc jester between 34th & 43rd.Ride south on bike/hike trail till you see railroad bridge-cross over bayou turn right.
