Tin Mines - Trail, El Paso, Texas

Tin Mines - Trail, El Paso, Texas

DESCRIPTION

This is an extended posting for the Heinrich Park trails off of Jon Cunningham. As of spring 2007 they have bulldozed the old roads that had turned to single/double track into flat and fast loops. There are a bunch of new single tracks in the vicinity. There are now enough single track trails below the tin mines to provide a couple hours of hard riding. Add in some of the loops in the area and you can easily get 3 to 4 hours of riding.

I would have to say that the northeast trails are some of the best singletrack in el paso..The trails flow very nice and is nothing like the trails on the west side of the mountain(redd road trails), Which is rock upon rock and very loose but fun also....The northeast trails are very smooth and nice for any level rider. If you want to make a longer ride of the northeast you can pedal the jeep road up to mundy's gap on franklin mountain which is a very nice climb, and very fun downhill when the climb is over. If you downhill from mundy's gap back to the parking lot at the park on jon cunningham, I would have to say its the longest downhill in el paso.(very fast)...I have been riding in el paso for years and say that the northeast side of franklin is where most the riding is being done in town......ride on
