This is my little private honey spot. This trail is great for a fast paced workout in some undiscovered Tennessee scenery. The trail starts as a dirt double track that is a quicksand pit for the first 1/4 mile in rainy weather. Don't let it put you off. Trails split off into the woods and connect with old farm roads--the kind from my childhood in the country; sunken between banks lined with big hardwoods. You spin along these for miles, occasionally slanting off into the woods. Some of these offshoots run down to the lake.

Keep track of where the turnoffs are--mark it with a rock or something--I got lost in here one day when a thunderstorm came up. The trail went from dry to 3 inches of water in 15 minutes. It was spectacular and memorable, but I passed the same point on the trail 4 times before I figured out what I'd done wrong.

This is a great ride in a different way from the mountains I usually climb. Enjoy!
