I was in town for a week and this place wasn't far from where I stayed, so I checked it out. I'm glad it only took me a few minutes to get here. It's not singletrack, the trail drains poorly so there's tons of mud, and joggers get in the way. If its all you have time for, and you can do 2+ loops, then fine. But don't go out of your way to check it out.

Rode the trail today in 28 degree weather. 80% of track was dry/frozen. The other part of the trail was a little soggy is spots where water doesn't drain well. Trail is not technical at all. Its a great place for beginners. You can also ride a few loops very fast and get a pretty good workout.

Scenery is def. a plus. Great lake view, plus a couple of deer roaming around today.

This trail is very dry right now and easy to ride. It is a great place to take a beginner. The Chattanooga chapter of SORBA is doing trail maintence to repair areas that usually remain muddy in the winter and spring.

Customer Service

This trail is a loop and may be ridden in either direction.

A very fast trail. Great for beginners. I went about 2 days after a good rain and about 50% was one big mud puddle. There's a spot near the lake where the trail was really swampy after rain and was underwater for about 1/4 mile. There were 2 downed trees (big ones)that I had to crawl over and they could do a better job marking the trail.

This is a great beginner course. Not many hills and very fast when it is dry. It is twisty enough to let you practice some skills, but if you want to try to set the land speed record you can do that as well!
It is mostly singletrack but there is sufficient room to pass. Be careful of the trail joggers and hikers becasue there are a couple of blind curves.

Customer Service

it doesn't matter which way you ride it. Most folks think that going to the left when you enter is slightly harder.

This trail I would definantly say is a begginer course, to easy for my likes but if you like you can really get to moving on this trail. I usually go backwards but I like it better going the normal route. It has stops at the side of the lake every 1 or 2 miles with a bench you can sit and enjoy the beautiful lake on. I would say this would be a good trail to get in shape on and not have to worry about injuries. Almost all of the trail is very well kept single track and is pretty twisty. Not really any hills but there are a few small ones

Its a great trail if you are a beginner. There are two entrances to the trail. It goes around the lake for about 4.5 miles. Has a great view of the lake. There a couple of minor hills about half way through the trail. Its a great trail to ride if you are camping at Harrison Bay state park.

Customer Service

You can ride the trail backwards or frontwards. Although it is a little more difficult backwards.

Good ride with a date, or for training for a race. You can set a pace and stick with it lap after lap--and the views keep you from getting bored.

Fast, smooth, non-technical riding that is works best if you want to set a pace that will improve your conditioning. Don't expect this 4.5 mile loop to be technical enough to advance your riding skills as would a more rocky, twisty trail. This is a good place to take a beginner mountain biker, because it offers just enough challenge for the beginner without much potential for injury. If you ride fast, you MUST be watchful for joggers and hikers. A few blind turns makes it dangerous riding at high speeds because of the people hiking. The views from the penninsula on which this trail loop is on is very nice. If you do get board of the loop, then try riding around the park for a while. Overall, there's nothing extremely exciting about this trail unless you go at it at full speed. I'd miss having rocky trails if I rode here all the time. During the rainly season, parts of this can be submerged, thus reducing the amount of trails.

Customer Service

There is one 4.5 mile loop. Ride it clockwise a few times and then counter clockwise.
