Had a really good time on this trail. It is a welcome change to the Toure de Wolfe trail at Shelby Farms. IT is intersting trying to find your way around in the fall if it was your first time on the trail due to the leaves covering the trail. Looking forward to lots of enjoyable rides here. I hope to see more races here since I missed the first one.

Stanky Creek (ride through the creek and you will know where the trail got its name) is a good 100% singletrack trail. Most of the trail was built by Memphis Racing Cyclist club, including that awesome thirtyfive foot bridge over the stank. The trail system is now four miles long. On 12-5-98 a three mile addition to the trail is planned. Please stay on the trail and don't cut the corners or it may end up like the "tour de truck"(as my 7 year old calls them)trail at Shelby farms. We ride here every Thursday night at 5:00

Customer Service

Both directions are fun, the "Stanky Creek" race runs clockwise.

This is a true mountain bikers dream trail. 100%
singletrack!!! You will not believe this kind of
elevation change is possible in the Memphis area.
It will be obvious that a lot of thought and hard
work went into this trail. Unfortunately there
are already signs of increased traffic on the trails.
There are corners that are being short cutted, and logs that have been moved.I ask anyone who reads this to please respect the work that others have done here.If
you would like to modify this trail please contact our
club and join in on a work party.Enjoy this awesome trail.

Customer Service

this trail rocks! it is with out a doubt the most challenging in the area. This trail is a drastic change from shelby farms. thanks go to the MRC trail builders for the fabulous bridges. Be carefull though this trail is difficult, and I wouldn't recomend it to any one other than advanced riders.

On a clear day, the variety of trail obstacles will work you out. Wear a helmet. In the rain, it is great too. when alone. stop and listen - have seen deer, owl raccons and hawks. Shift and shift, sand, mud, logs, water, spiders and plenty bugs. it is fun and the beer at the end of your ride, sure tastes better.

Just down the road from where I live. Absolutely fabulous. Poison ivy abounds but not nearly as bad as Herb Parsons. Hilly, narrow (esp the newest section). BMX jumps too abound in one section. Excellent workout. So if you are bored of the same ol Tour de Wolf trails, come here.

Customer Service

Take Covington Pike north from I240. At Stage Rd, turn right and go a bit till you see an elevated gravel parking lot on your left. Park there and ride the whole 7.5miles (three major loops).

Being one of two trails I've ever ridden, I can't comment on the difficulty of the trail, but I will say it is a great place to get away from the busy work week. Since I ride the trail a couple of time a week, I don't think it's that hard. It does have some steep hills and some places where you have to ride through the creek, but they aren't bad. It does get very technical when you travel off the main trail.
I, personally, love the quick rides through the creek, chillin' by the 35 ft. bridge, and climbing/drawing/sitting on the huge fallen tree near the bridge.
I think this trail can accomodate the riding needs of anyone from and a novice to an expert or even a bmxer to a mountain biker. The bmx riders probably wouldn't want to ride the trails, but there is a place for them to ride the constantly changing jumps.
This is a really great course and I hope it stays that way. I thank all the great people of the MRC and anyone else who helped to create it so much (if they read this).
