Yimmon's Park - TRAIL

Yimmon's Park - Trail, Greenville, Carolina

Real close to Downtown Greenville. Is short, but a great workout if you don't have a lot of time. Some good short climbs and steep down hills.Fun if you ride several laps.

Timmons is really more of a freeriding skills park than a mountain biking trail. You'll find examples of difficult roots, rocks, drops, cross-slopes, very steep sections, loose conditions, etc. Pick spots on which you need work and ride reps. Impress your riding buds with your new skills later on.

I don't go to Timmons often because my style of riding is more cross country/scenic and less technical. I think it hacks off the disc golfers too. I play disc rounds @ Timmons much more often than I ride there. It's a pretty good golf course.

Customer Service

Park you car in any of several spots. Look for cool terrain and just ride around. There's not really any route to it. An earlier reviewer mentioned 2 miles of trail. You'd have a tough time scrounging that much trail length out of Timmons without repeating. It's not a large park, so you're not really going anywhere. Try riding two miles without leaving your yard.

I came here expecting a hard trail from what I read on the internet but to my surprise it was to easy. No one really rides here anymore so there are no trails its all grown up to much. There is 2 downhill trails that people walk on and is so covered in roots its not fun. Like I said there is no trail anymore and this place is not worth the trip.

Good for what it is, a quick ride close to town to practice on. Not a trail to go out of your way for. There are a lot of frisbee golfers on the trail now, so watch out. The far right side of the park behind the picnic shelters from the entrance is the best part of the trail. There is one large hill that makes a tricky decent with all the roots that are exposed.

Customer Service

Start at the bridge head right around the baseball field. Be sure you fork off in the woods behind the picnic shelter (from the entrance the far right of the park), that is the best part of the trail, whoop-de-woos, two switchbacks, etc.

I didn't feel like driving to Dupont this weekend so thought I'd give Timmons a try. The park is not really well suited for someone really looking to ride. If you have kids it would be a fine place to go ride. If you play frisbee golf, this is a great park. I would not recommend the park for mountain biking. The trail is dull and you have to dodge the frisbee players.

This was the first place I rode when I started Mtbiking. It isn't all that great. It is a little short and the trail is not well put together. There is also a "disc frisbee" course in the middle of it. Try not to run over any frisbee tossers.

Customer Service

Stay on the trail.

People say this trail sucks, but you have to take it for what it is. It's a short workout in downtown Greenville, it's not meant to be an adventure, just a lunch hour workout.
It's good for working stiffs like me as well as beginners. I give it four tires for it's convenience and attempt at being technical.

This is a good little technical trail. Use it for what it is, a practice ground with some cool little technical areas and a convenient work out. This is a great place to test new components, use it to hone your skills, but don't expect the world.

The Timmons Park trail is challenging yet short. It has difficult uphills and swift downhills that last all of five seconds. Many teenagers have built ramps on the course so, WATCH OUT!!!!!! Shout out to that stupid kid brian.

Customer Service

From the parking area, go down and to the right to the bridge over the small creek. The trail will wind around the frisbee golf course. Across the parking lot the trail continues on a flat narrow trail with many switch-backs.

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO GO FOR A MID-WEEK RIDE, OR IF YOU JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO DRIVE OUT OF TOWN TO A "REAL" MOUNTAIN BIKING EXPERIENCE. IT IS GOOD PRACTICE, AND IF YOU KEEP GOING, IT IS VARIED ENOUGH TO GET IN A GOOD WORKOUT. IT CAN BE AS EASY OR AS TOUGH AS YOU MAKE IT.
FOR AN IN TOWN TRAIL, NOT SHABBY AT ALL. MUCH BETTER THAN NOTHING.
