Jackson Bluff Trail System - TRAIL

Jackson Bluff Trail System - Trail, Conway, Carolina

Good mix of singletrack and fire roads in the Myrtle Beach area. Trail can get narrow and technical at times with roots and logs which gives the short trails a decent challenge. Overall good trail with not a lot of experience required.

I checked this trail out with a few friends as a novelty on the way to Myrtle Beach recently. It's short and fast with a few surprises along the way: the red blaze single track and the steep gully drop. On a heavy single speed it's a fairly easy endeavor. The forest/swamp setting was different than what I'm accustomed to; it was very nice to see the occasional Live Oak.

After riding the Horry County Bike & Run trial and not enjoying it, the Jackson Bluff trail has grown on me. Nice!

Customer Service

You can ride it all, forward and backward several times in an hour, so it really doesn't matter.

I normally bring a road bike to MB on vacation, but since I am from the mountains, I found riding the roads at sea level boring, plus there is a lot of traffic. I was VERY happy to find mountain biking trails through the Waccamaw Trail Blazers website. I brought a full suspension bike and hit these trails twice during my beach week. The Jackson Bluffs area includes forest roads, doubletrack and some challenging singletrack. I particularly liked the singletrack with its twists and turns, roots, narrow challenges, and a nice drop through a gully. This is not a high-speed trail system, but I had a near record average heart rate on the singletrack due to the full body effort required.

I found the trails mostly easy to follow (a few more small signs at intersections would help), and the extended wooden bridge over the swamp is beautiful. This area appears to have room for many more trails to be built in the future. This area is an oasis for mountain bikers at the beach and should be futher developed in the future and marketed as an additional attraction for the MB area. My beach week was much more enjoyable with mountain biking in the activities mix.

Will I be back? Certainly! AM I telling my friends? Certainly!

Customer Service

I rode all of the trails both directions. Just pedal and enjoy. I had fun.

Blue and yellow trains are forest service roads while green and orange allow for some fun singletrack. The green is tight and twisty while orange gives a litte more challenge to experienced riders. Trails can be hard to follow at times with all the leaves down but trails are marked well at major intersections.

Customer Service

Blue to green then ride yellow back to orange and finish back on blue. We rode the whole thing twice and if it were not for an errant stick in the spokes, we would have rode it again. Hopefully will get back after repairs.

Easy trail head to find, driving directions excellent. Trails are well marked, there are some connecter trails that look like they have been finished recently. There are no hills since the area is at sea level.Fun trails, only about 3 miles of trails, but by riding them in different directions I could put together about 10 miles of riding. I was on vacation so I was happy to ride somewhere that had trails. The bridge through the wetlands was well constructed and a nice addition to the main trail. The Waccamaw mountain bike association should be very proud of this gem by the sea, I rode this area 3 times while on vacation in Myrtle Beach.
