wolf pond trail - TRAIL

wolf pond trail - Trail, carsonville, Pennsylvania

Starts out as grassy smooth fire road and then turn right at signed Wolf pond trail. Here it becomes true (love it) singletrack and has fazt sections nixed with rock gardens. This trail is fairly short but it then leads to a variety of trails, many signed of similar riding conditions. All told there is about 6 hours of exploration and singletrack in this area alone, including a favorite hang gliding launch spot, picnic area, and by riding back to Lukes trail and following it along the escarpment for a couple of miles, you can easily decend a grassy pipeline to the Greenland road in neighboring Gamelands and cruise that to it's fsst fireroad descent to the old Goldmine Speedway. Adding that to Wolf pond probably requires a second car or a long road ride back. Wolf pond area is called Broad mountain and it does allow singletrack riding with out too much climbing if planned out carefully.

This trail has been updated since 2000. We took over maintaining it since it use to be a hiker trail. The trail is blast riding form either direction, but I prefer coming from wolf pond road. There are some challanging rock gardens that have some tombstone head rocks and rock slab sections. The only part bad about the trail is the creek crossing and low land area that keeps water (out by wolf pond road). Trail takes about 20 minutes to ride or quicker for you fast guys.

Customer Service

From wolf pond road and finsh ride down boundry snowmobile trail to dirt road, which takes you to minnich spring picnic area. I gave this review a 4 because of poor water drainage areas. Wouldn't recommand riding this trail in the spring period.
