Valley Green- these are some of the best trails in the east coast offering all levels of technical riding on both sides of the wissahicken creek. I started riding here over 25 years ago in my Ross Mt Hood with no suspension with less groomed trails. Now I have my dual suspension and the trails are in great shape.
If you get beat up on the trails you can drop down to the bridal path and take it easy. Lots to love.
If best area is behind Valley Green with some new trails that are fast and fun.
You can check her sister 10 miles away in NE Philly- Pennypack - again both sides of the Pennypack Creek -
Philly has it all when it comes to biking..

Customer Service

go 100 yards south east on forbidden drive where the road forks to the right and climb to the trail crossing , turn right and that will take you behind Valley Green, turn left ain't bad either . Anywhere painted green in the Wissahicken is great.

Extremely challenging and has everything from rocks, roots, to logs that you can jump. This trail is very Technical too. Very Hill, Extremely Fun. Most trails are double track. Ive met a few people who have traveled from far away to come here and got disappointed with the lack of single track runs.
It is very hard to get lost here too. The Yellow and Red trails parrel the creek. They have these big roads that intersect the trail if you need to bail out. For those who do not want to do the upper parts of the wiss, or get tired from climbing up hills you can go down onto Forbidden drive which is a gravel path parrelle to wishiken creek.

Customer Service

All of it. If the West side gets backed up, there are some big rock passes on the East side.

This is such an excellent trail. If you start at the Valley Green Inn and go about 100 feet down Forbidden Drive, there is an offshoot going uphill. Take it, and you will be on an excellent cross country single track with excellent downhills, technical climbs, and everything from fast banked turns to decent sized ramps. You can bail out fairly often, or you can follow the green and green yellow blazed trail for 8 or 9 miles, crossing over the river at some point and going up the other side of the gorge where there is some more difficult climbing and more intense downhill.

Customer Service

Up the hill right past Valley Green Inn, stay on the Green and Green Yellow trails (blazes are on trees). Also, follow the signs that point directions for bikers to go. This is not a place that is good for improvising routes.

This trail is the motherload of Philadelphia Trails - you really can't go wrong, although dont get creative and hit unmarked trails... I've actually gotten a ticket, and actually gottten lost even though its pretty hard to...

Customer Service

Just hit the forbidden trail and take any of the off shoots - there's one at least once every 1/4 mile. They mostly hit the main trail again, hard to get lost unless you dont follow the trails.
