I always knew there were trails out here but I only got my mountain bike after I've moved north of Lebanon. A coworker took me out and wanted to take me on trail #15, his words, "you will either love it, or you will hate it." He was right. I absolutely loved it! Sure I had to walk through some sections, but this type of riding is great for building balance at low speeds and choosing the right lines. I had to go back and show a friend. We went in the middle of a serious downpour, and all the smooth trails were like riding in creeks. The bridges and rocks were slick as ice, but this ride will make the history books as being the most fun I have ever had on 2 wheels!

Was pumped to go ride fast flowy stuff, didn't find any. Don't expect "north shore" type riding. Trail 4 is fun and technical but not fast unless you wanna die. Really want to ride trail 12 but it's closed to bikes. Why? I don't know, someone always has to ruin the fun. Trail 15 is their "difficult" trail and it's terrible. Features are lame and few and far between. Not many drops, NO ladder bridges, and the actuall riding is terrible. There is more chance of breaking something or getting a flat than having fun. Wish there was freeride trails there. Was thinking of building one but would prolly get arrested for it. My main take from my rides there is "Rocks, Rocks, and more ROCKS!"

Customer Service

I guess the short 4 trail is my fave.

Memorial Park at Gov Dick Mt Gretna, PA on July 4, 2011: Not a large place but a few of the coolest trails i have been on are here. Was sad to see that #12 is no longer for bikes; or maybe it was always posted no bikes? (rode it twice today anyway since no one really hikes it; it's a fun downhill trail with some large boulders and 2 balance bridges). The good news: monster new trail #15 (new last year? missed it then). Long, technical, and has a crazy amount of huge half buried rocks (large and rounded, some the size of the top of a VW Bug); some are not too difficult to ride, some are scary (did some damage to bike and body today; if u have a new ride it's gonna lose some paint and u will lose some blood). Rode the direction from #13 to #15 to #4; i think a bit more uphill this way and had to do some walkies if i had a fall since getting started again on the rocks was rough. This trail will get more fun each time u ride as finding the "entrance" to make it up onto the large boulders (and back down without a faceplant) is difficult to spot when moving. My rating of a 4 is based mostly on trails #12 and #15; is doesn't get any better for boulder riding than this.

From Pinch Rd pull-off parking area: #3 (just to the left of #2), across stone HST trail to continue on #3 which goes around short 1/2 circle, across HST again to #2, #10, #12, #13, then either: 1.continue loop on #13, #5 back to parking (about 1 hour fast ride) OR 2. do half of #13, to #15 then anyway back to parking (i would guess time wise that just doing #15 is 40 minutes, assuming your bike survives and u don't have to walk back).

Brickerville (haven't done it in years), Rocky Ridge (York,PA), HST(#1 and #10 at Gretna) Horse Shoe Trail for hike, bike, horse; its not really for technical mountain biking but can be combined with the Mt Gretna area and the Lebanon Valley rail trail for killer mileage.
Raystown Lake/Allegripis trail system is not in the same area but worth the drive, so quit your job and go, now.

This is where I started riding and it is definitely my favorite place! Plenty of hard trails and also nice climbs that lead up to the challenging downhill trail. pick a route and build off of that, you will be exploring a while and find really fun and enjoyable trails for all levels. Be sure to bring your water during the summer and a map because some trails are now foot travel only. I only started riding there a year ago about and I have not had the privilege to ride all them because some are now closed.

Mt. Gretna has great trails and it is a relatively large area to bike. Some of the trails are too rocky to bike on but the majority are great and you can get going fast. Gov. Dick is great and has the best trails. The trails surrounding the mountain/hill are good for cross country biking, but if you are looking for some downhill, it is worth the climb to the top of Gov. Dick to the tower. Finally, there is a well kept soot rail trail along the bottom of the mountain which is great for a fast-paced, fun ride.

Customer Service

Park in the educational area and start either way, up the steep path to the tower, or the rockier trail on the other side. Both have several good longer trails splitting off the main trail.

A good mix of singletrack and crazy fast access roads (trail #10!) that makes for a decent afternoon of riding. The single track can get pretty technical at points because it is so rocky that it resembles a cobbled street but that is my only real complaint.

Things have changed over the years. This year a new trail was opened that is a great challenging run. It intersects with Trail 13 and the new parking area off of Pinch Rd. If you havn't been there in a while you should go and see for yourself.

Customer Service

Park at Nature center and head down new trail off of driveway then loop around Trail 13 and go back the other way on new trail

fun place to ride with lots of trails. some are really tehnical(#4) and some are fun tight rolly singletrack. still exploring the area though. Found some nice drops and REALLY fast sections- bouldering spot too. I think with a good map this spot is A+. watch out for overgrown sections-thorns a plenty

Customer Service

park at the gov. dick lot on pinch road and start exploring. fun on both sides of the road.

Very nice for casual riding or very good for technical riding. Has some nice technical spots and lots of flowing single track. Just watch for the horse pies sometimes.

Customer Service

The old race course. Starting at the bottom of Governor Dick and wrapping around the power lines and up to the G.D. then down the other side

Mt. Gretna covers all of the bases. You can do a technical downhill, 8 mile loop, serious climb, and easy riding. Great place to ride to get in shape and practice.
