Twin Lakes Park - TRAIL

Twin Lakes Park - Trail, Greensburg, Pennsylvania

The trail is an ok singletrack. I would recommend beginning with the climb which takes you up above the lower lake and then up above the upper lake. When you come out at the road (near the upper lake), go a little bit to your left and you will see where the trail continues. After you go back...you will see various paths along the way which branch off. Explore the various routes...they link to various terrain, climbs, and distances. After exploring, you will be able to link the paths for different combinations.

OK singletrack. Low milage trail system. Not for the novice, unless you want to learn to ride better ;-)

Trail maintanence is decent. Several fallen trees force a dismount here and there.

If you ride these trails hard and fast, you will have fun. Good warmup for the intermediate.

Park at the west end of the park, off of Georges Station Road. Pavilion 5, I think. With your back to the pavilion, face up hill. Ride to the right and you'll find an old access road which takes you out to a power line. Take the power line 100 yards or so and hang a left up into the woods again. You're in.

I learned to ride on these trails, and still love them to this day. I've recently moved out of the area, but never miss an opportunity to head back. There is a wide variety of difficulty to these trails so be carefull. Ride to the the back left corner of the upper lake, and you'll find a shorter way to the tracks, and a nice warm-up circuit (two parallel trails about 50 yards apart). Happy Riding.

Go to the pavilon on the lower lake farthest from the upper lake. As you face the lake go to the lower right corner. They recently paved the entire trail around the lower lake, so after entering in the lower right corner look for a singletrack trail shooting up to the right. Follow this to the road, cross the road, ride left a little, continue on. You'll eventually get to an opening......awesome down hill!!!! Go down and to the right and you'll eventually complete a loop. Bust a left before going down the hill and you'll hit some railroad tracks. Ride the tracks to the left and you can ride singletrack/fields all the way to Latrobe.
Call Bike Line at 724-838-0994 for someone to ride with!!!! Ask for Jeremy. Maybe you can even get Jim's flabby ass off that chair and onto his mountain bike!!!!!

Similar Products Used: Go up the hill in the back LEFT (not right) corner of the Upper Lake and begin to ride on a cinder trail parallel to the tracks. Make a right, you'll go under the tracks. Make a left onto the road and ride about 100 yards and make a right in to a development. Ride straight back until you get to a 90 degree bend in the road (go straight on the dirt "driveway") Follow the dirt drive way to a very fast and steep (wahsed out) downhill. Go right at the bottom, make the next left onto an old railroad bed. Follow until the next road. Cross the road. Continue on the old railroad bed. It will open up to the right about a mile in. There will be a natural gas well in a small field. In the back corner of the opening is a HUGE STEEP uphill.....I WILL GIVE ANYONE $10 WHO MAKES IT UP THIS HILL.... At the top head to the right......ride on....find you own route..... Welcome to Latrobe!!!!!!!
