I’m new to mountain biking. I started about 2-3 months back and have been riding at least 3 times a week. Camp Mack is the closest place to where I live. A pass does need to be bought at Green Mountain Cyclery for $25.00 and must be paid with a check. I believe you can ride someone with a pass as well. This place can also be referred to as Pumping Station by some.

Parking:
Parking can be found at 322 and Pumping Station Road. There’s a wide area there for parking and you can’t miss it.

Trail Entrance:
From the parking area ride left (facing 322) across the bridge. Once across the bridge you will see behind the HUNT SAFELY sign a trail that goes up (left turn).

Trail Impression:
I really enjoy this trail. I haven’t discovered the whole area yet but from what I have found it has a mixture of everything. From 1-2 foot drops, twisty switchbacks, fast downhill jeep trails, bridges over streams, and rock gardens. At first I was scared to venture out as it doesn’t get as much traffic through it as Mt. Gretna but I find this place more fun to ride than Gretna.

Customer Service

Head up the trail behind the Hunt safely sign. Once you hit a right or left take a left to the explorer trail. Right will take you up Horseshoe which is meant to be a technical rock garden decline down. I went up by mistake my first time and walked the whole way.

Take explorer trail (Jeep trail) to the top of the mountain. Once at the top the road splits in two stay left. You’ll then hit not far from there where the trail splits in three. Take the right Big Timber Trail and it starts to descend take a slight left to Spring Trail and smile the way down on switichbacks and meeting up with Sharp Valley trail for drops and two bridges. From there you can either go back to the explorer trail and re run it for fun or go right back up the mountain to ride the technical Horseshoe trail.

Nice single track and a few bridge crossings. I usually go with someone who has a permit because I don't know my way around up there too good. There are lots of people that ride their on Sunday's early in the morning if you want to talk to them or follow them on a ride.
