There's more singletrack in the Cedar Creek than these reviews would lead you to believe. It's possible to put together a loop that's over 2 miles in length. While not long, it is fairly brutal riding as it's ALOT of short steep ups and downs. It's basically 2 plus miles of interval training. Very twisty and windy as there just isn't alot of terrain to hide single track. Some of it runs along the steeper parts of the Gorge and it very rooty and off camber. If you're scared of heights(as I am), it can produce a moment or two of anxiety. Very off camber and rooty up in the gorge. If you can ride this in the wet you can ride nearly anything. There are a few features as well, built by the local trail riders. Mostly to get over large logs or across one marshy area.

We ride the Yough River Trail a few times a week to keep in shape for single track on the weekends. The Cedar Creek Park area is a nice break from the gravel trails. The Gorge Trail is approx 3/4 mile long and is wide, gentle beginners single track. Near the end of the trail are two large fallen trees and a rocky stream crossing. That's as technical as it gets :) Lots of other trails shoot off and loop around along the creek. A nice change of pace for a mile or so before returning to the YRT to finish your ride. I checked with the bike rental/concessions in the park, MTB'ing is allowed on these trails.

Customer Service

We like to park at the West Newton trail head, ride 4 miles to Cedar Creek, run the Gorge Trail and other off shoots, then return back to West Newton. 9-10 miles depending how many trails you ride off the Gorge Trail.
