Waldo Lk to Cultus Lk loop - Trail, Bend, Oregon

Directions from North Waldo Campground boat ramp: Head east and shortly find a jeep road on your left(rd 514 to Taylor Burn). Follow this jeep road to a jct with rd 800 and turn right. This section was once thick with timber, but is now through the center of the Waldo burn. Once you turn right, you will soon leave the burn and follow rd 800 to Little Cultus Lk. At the east end of Little Cultus, turn left and follow the jeep road to Deer Lk. At Deer Lk, you will pick up the trail around the north side Cultus Lk which ends at a campground on the east side. Follow the paved road about 1/4 mi to the outlet at Cultus Creek. At this point, you may want to stop at the lodge on Cultus to buy a snack at the restaraunt/store. Head east from Cultus on the paved road for about 0.5 mile to the first dirt road on the right(4630). Turn here and then turn right again at the next dirt road(800) back to Little Cultus Lk. At Little Cultus, continue follow rd 800 for about 2 miles looking for the first trail on your left (trail 19). It'll say Lemish Lk 0.5 mi. Follow this trail all the way to the west side of Charlton Lk. At Charlton Lk find the spur trail to Waldo Lk and take that down to the Waldo Lk trail and turn right. There's many good spots to take a break for lunch or swim on this route. The mosquitos can be really bad so if you want to stop for any length of time bring repellent or try to find a spot with lots of wind to keep them off you. Leave yourself plenty of time and be sure and bring food and water. Trail 19 crosses the PCT which is closed to all mechanized transport.

Outstanding little used singletrack, but can be dusty and extremely mosquitoe.

Start at Charlton Lake and go toward Cultuis lake . Two ways of going, one through round meadow and down, across fs 4290 and do the lemish loop back to charlton or do the big loop around cultus lake and than back gooing the other way around lemish lake. Lots of dust in summer and nobody there, just you and the mosquitos. Also there is bobby lake down to davis lake. Also a hard core downhill from maiden peak to gold lake, but you have to get up there first. There ar other routes in the area but a rarely cleared of windfall. These routes all almost all cleared by COTA so go thank them. Most is fairly level type riding excepting the maiden peak one and bobby lake to davis lake. GO enjoy
