NuDraper - Trail, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

DESCRIPTION

Fast, flowing single track set in dense trees. Features 3 loops, Green (6 mile beginner course), Yellow (4.5 mile intermediate course), and Expert (2.5 mile expert course).

Lots of tight trails that wind around for miles through tight trails and up and down creek beds. Thumbs up to the Oklahoma Earthbike Foundation (OEF)for creating and mainting this great track, lots of fun to ride.

12 miles of flowing smooth trails. There are 4 or 5 different loops that vary in difficulty. This is fun trail to get a lot of miles in on. Technical difficulty is relatively low on the majority of the trail but don't let that keep you away. In the summer time it can get very sandy in dry times.

About 11 miles of really fun, fast singletrack. Not that technical, but is absolutly worth the time to ride. Great variety for all riders to learn with and to challenge themselves with no matter what level your at.

Customer Service

The guys that keep up this trail have done A LOT of work recently. They have actually created a few new tracks out of the old 'blue trail'. The old 'blue trail' that had the elevated log on it is now the 'black trail'. They have made the 'blue trail' into a fantastic warm-up trail that is able to be ridden really quickly and great for wither a warm-up or a cool down. The new version of the 'blue trail' has the same entrance that the old one did, but it is a lot different. The 'red trail' has had some directional changes and has a new section for small jumps and a small canyon that can be repeated and is really fun to ride fast.

I really like what has been done to aid in drainage of the trails and the drains have made NO REDUCTION in the natural beauty of the trail. GREAT JOB GUYS! Thank you very much!

Very nice. I was visiting and stopped by for a ride. These are great XC trails - fast, flowy, and fun. Local riders I met were friendly and helpful. I will definitely ride here again when I am in OKC.

On my ratings:

Aerobic is really whatever you want it to be. Ride fast and hard, and you can get a good workout. Or take it easy and relax.

The technical rating is low because the trails are basically all XC. Again, you can make it higher if you were so inclined; there is a free ride section.

Overall rating is hard because these trails are excellent and well designed but OK is not UT or CO. These trails are the best small system I have ridden in a long time so compared to similar trails NuDraper should get a 5. But the big XC rides that exist out there means that NuDraper only gets a 4 - but I highly recommend these trails to anyone who is close by or visiting OKC.

I was here on business from Texas for 2 weeks and I got out to draper 4 times...Great trail, great access, and great flow. I rode Draper, Arcadia, and Clear Bay while I was here and I must say Draper has the best flow and best berms...If you like to ride fast and corner, this is the trail for you. The trail signage is very good...better than Clear Bay, and there are plenty of bail out options. My only critiques would be: not very tecnical and not much climbing...if you like those two aspects of the sport go to Clear Bay. If you like hammering and seeing how fast you can corner while not hitting the nearby trees... than Draper is your place. Great single speed trail by the way...but a single speed makes any trail great!

Customer Service

Do it all...about 12 miles of fun, mellow, buff singletrack. I enjoyed the yellow loop the most...

There are two "experienced" trails (red and blue), one intermediate trail (yellow), and one green trail (beginner). The blue loop has a feature park with some bridges, jumps, berms, and log crossings. Blue and Red are my two favorite loops out here. The rest of the trail flows pretty well and it's really just about seeing how fast you can ride this trail. I understand why sopme people like this trail. For me there are 3 problems; sand, no steep downhill, no scenic views.

Just an update - this trail has been recently overhauled due to the Ice Storm at the end of 2007 and now runs in the REVERSE direction to how it was previously routed. There are also plans to include a NEW section of trail, dedicated to 'gravity-fed' riding as well as some ladders/skinnies/log rides in the existing sections. Keep your eyes on NuDraper - it's gonna be a blast!

This is a really nice trail. The guys that don't think it's technical simply aren't going fast enough. It's super tight. There are some good drops in the yellow and red. The green is more challenging aerobically.

This trail took some time getting use to; was not too happy at first but is pretty good the second day after rain, the sand is sticky and fast. Mostly single track; nice and tight in some sections, open in others, a few small drops no real climbs but if you keep a good pace and you will keep your heartrate up.

Customer Service

Start on the yellow hit the green and finish the red; real easy to follow the arrows.
