Just a fire road with some nice downhills usually with small creek crossings at the bottom. Very nice scenery, you will need to slime your tubes or bring extras, there are alot of sand burrs (goat heads) on the trail. After I road the trail there were small spots on my tires with green coming out, but they held up very well. The trail is not difficult and the only technical stuff can be some of the downhills, some have alot of rocks. Overall just a nice ride.

Customer Service

To the east of Scott mountain is a parking spot that leads to the trail, I started from there and road back around the mountain and to the west. Once off the trail I rode on the street back to the main road, once on the main road it is mostly downhill back to your car. You can get going pretty fast on a couple of them.

It's a maintained fire road around Mt. Scott. Not very technical (some baby-headed areas), with an approximate rise of 1150 feet (according to my GPS). Some goat-heads also, so slime your tubes, and bring an extra.

The trail goes through a wildlife refuge, and apparently there are heavy fines for going off trail. I saw buffalo, longhorns, and wild turkey.

It's an easy trail, but also easily accessible.

Customer Service

I parked at the LETRA parking lot, rode it uphill to Meers road, and back down.

Wide fire road, usually only graded once a year. Usually can be ridden fast, but has some sticky clay that will clog up wheels after rains. Large rocks and ruts at times, also the goat heads like to grow in the center and edges of the road(I had 15 punctures in less than three miles). Good work out to do an out and back or to link to the pavement and make a loop. Also a good place to bring inexperienced folks to try some dirt miles without getting in over their heads.

Customer Service

Start at either end. I prefer to start at the Lake Elmer Thomas side and go to the other end, then decide if I want to ride it back again or take the pavement back. You can turn south on 115 until you reach 49, then turn east and you are headed back at the parking lot.
