Sorry guys, this trail, in all its glory, is now the Spicewood Sub-division. No more trails, only an upscale housing development. It was nice while it lasted.

Other trails in the area are Hobby Park, Tanglewood Park, and the loop at Salem Lake.

sappy I know but what can you say when I could ride from my house growing up get in 3-6 miles of smiles and then ride home.
Like you Riderx ive been on and off these trails for 10-15 yrs

CLOSED!! The trail is no more. I have ridden and ran this trail for more than 10 years. 3.5 miles of good single track. Very aerobic. Gone forever, replaced by new neighborhood.... Good bye old friend...

This is a nice trail that doesn't get much traffic. Nothing too memorable about the trail but it gives a good aerobic workout. There are a few tricky sections. I usually ride it a few times a year for a change of scenery. New sections have been opened in the last few years. Thanks to the land owner who does make this trail available.

Park at grocery story across from end of Spicewood Road. Ride up road to trailhead, on left. Unmarked, but obvious if you're looking for it.

The Spice wood trial is on private property and should only be ridden with specific permission from the owners. This privilage should not be abused and if it is we will lose this great little piece of singletrack for good. I make a point of asking said owner each year if the trail is still cool to ride on. Please people,...be responsible and check on these things before you go and submit a review that could make this trail a piece of history. I`vv been riding this area for 19 yrs now and built alot of the Salem Lake trail myself. Let`s keep our heads here and maybe we`ll keep these trails open. Whatever you do,...do not ride Spice if it has rained even the slightest. It becomes a quagmire fast and takes days to dry up. use yor heads and don`t take advantage of good people who are kind enough to let you have use of their property.

very fast short circle and is great fun it is single track and has a really fast long down hill not many up hills at all

Spicewood is indeed a private trail. For the last few years the owners have been very good about letting us ride this trail and friends of the trail have kept it repaired and in good shape.
Any time we ride private land we should square it with the owners!!! How would you feel if the local riders decided it was alright to set up trails on your property without your permission? The liability issue alone is enough to make most land owners afraid to open their property to the public, so we should be very grateful and respectful of the owners of Spicewood. All it takes is one bad incident and the trail will close.
As trail go this one is great fun. Lots of variety and some good downhill runs. The trail is only about 3 miles long but two laps will give you a workout.
Normally the trail is well maintained, but gets real gooey when wet. Please avoid it after a rain and give it a chance to dry out and be ridable. After a rain Hobby Park is the trail that drains the fastest....give it a try.

Salem Lake trails in the woods have been badly abused and are now off limits. We don't deserve to ride there any more. There is a limit to how much we can abuse the land before it becomes a mess. Think about it!!

About 3.5 milies of very nice singletrack. Very good use of the land. I rode it November 4th the trail had had had the leaves blown off whithin the last day or so and as a result was easy to follow. Also rode Hobby Park same day and was given directions here by a local rider I thank him otherwise I would never have gotten the chance to ride such a fun little trail. No real technical riding just great twisting singletrack.

I rode in the entrance took a right up the hill seemed to work well as it ends riding the flats along the creek this way.

Nice little singletrack, with interesting terrain and some nice downhills. A few logs and roots, but other than that, not too much technical riding. This place is a great ride.
