There is now 31 miles of blissful forest singletrack here. This is XC heaven. Downhillers and Free riders need not apply.

Customer Service

Try for all 31 in a day and start with the full Laurel loops followed by Wildlife (my favorite)/Fox/Fallstown loops. Next do the Hawk/Hicks cr./Norwood loops. Lastly do the Monbo. This sequence allows one to bail out after having done the best ones in order.
Don't miss Wioldlife.

Just an update...the Laurel Loop is 9 miles long. After you go across the bridge and dive right into the woods, the trail come to a junction around the powerlines and will give you the option to do the 4.5 mile loop or the 9 mile loop. I highly recommend the 9 mile loop. There are some pretty decent climbs compared to the 4.5 mile option.

Customer Service

From the parking lot, go towards the first entrance and follow the blue blazes. After the 9 mile loop, depending on fitness you can add the Hawk's Nest Loop for a 12.5 mile ride or hit the Mombo trail for another 6 miles. Lots of flowing single track.

WOW, what a phenomenal course! Lake Norman State Park is as fast as you make it. The down hills are incredible fast and the claims are no more that two or three turns of the crank in order to get to the top of the hill. The guys from Sun and Ski Sports from Concord Mills introduced me to this trail. After riding the trail one time I had to bring everyone I knew. My wife went with me the following ride and had a great time. We have taken many other friends since then. All of which say “They can’t get enough”! These trails have really good flow, jumps, and drop-ins. All trails are very well marked, as well as having an easily accessible emergency trail. I would be willing to drive more than a hundred miles to ride a trail of this caliber again. Take the time and come ride with us.

My brother lives just down the road and I was able to ride it this year. It is now almost 14 1/2 miles of trails and more under construction. Very nice singletrack course entire tril is in a heavy wooded area. Worth an hour of two car ride if your in the area. I live in Wisconsin and we do not have much that would compare to it. Spoke to a local bike shop they said second best trails in North Carolina for what that is worth.

This is the place to introduce a novice to the sport. Not very technical, but can be run very fast adding to the thrill. Lots of the basic switchbacks and woops with no logs or rocks to contend with. Well marked. At just over 4 miles, I would definitely plan at least 2 laps.

I am relatively new to the sport of mountain biking, but I want to thank the Lake Norman trail for making me fall in love with the sport! It's a trail that a beginner can feel comfortable and confident on (not technical). It's also a trail that an expert rider (my husband) can enjoy as well (fast). We go every week since it has opened and do a couple of laps.

Customer Service

Only one way to go on the trail. It's clearly marked.

After the exit 42 or past Wilco towards Statesville, go to the 1st light and make left and follow signs Lake Norman State Park.

Customer Service

I took the 4 mile loop twice, with a 9.99 avg. and an 10.4 avg the 2nd time. The trail is very fast and easy hills to climb. It is almost like the trail only goes downhill like a roller coaster. A great place to take a beginning trail rider.

Go to Troutman and follow signs to Lake Norman State Park. Trail begins across the road from swimming area parking lot.

Customer Service

The ONLY route is the 4.25 mile loop. Don't skip the Hicks Creek loop at bridge. Nice trail. Pretty tame XC... not much for huckers. No big hills up or down. I liked it alot. Nice work!! I'll be back.
