Fun trail with some medium technical stuff, mainly log piles, all of them very easy to clear. Every kind of soil out there that exists. One really fun downhill section going counterclockwise ended in me busting my @$$ trying to make the turn at the bottom in some ice-like red wet clay. Luckily I crashed early in the turn because a copperhead was lying in the middle of the trail about 8' from my face. I had to move him with a long stick in order to ride on by. Anyway, if its rained recently, you might won't to ride a slow lap first to see where the slick clay is. Elevation gain may be 30' at best but the trail is still pretty fun, especially riding clockwise, its faster. Has some wild bridges made out of different types of materials that are linked together to make one continuous crossing. Overall, I'd probably compare it to some place like Governor's Creek in Sanford. There is lots of potential for trail expansion and there needs to be some jumps added in for some excitement. Don't really need to be too big but something enough to get a couple of feet off the ground. They could be an option on some of the downhill sections since the trail is wide in a lot of the high speed areas. There seems to be a new section with a half-pipe type turn that is really fun , but it too is in a slick clay section that could make for a serious crash if its wet at all. The trail was approximately 3 miles and I rode it in both directions for 2 laps each. Bugs were not too much of a problem. Its definately worth checking out if you live in Greenville or Wilson or elsewhere close by.

Same route. Very easy to find. Parking will become a big problem very quick unless there is another place to park nearby. It took less than an hour to get there from Greenville, so its somewhere to go for a change of pace.

Well I helped build at least part of the trail but if someone came out here and had never ridden it they might have a hard time to find there way around. There are many log crossing's but they aren't hard. I would recomend not coming right after it rains because it gets very slippery and hurts if you fall! It is only about 2.5-3 miles not to long so come and ride it.

Customer Service

I like to go either way really, both ways have really good hill climbs and technical objects, but they arent to hard just challenging!

The only other place I've ridden in Rocky Mount is the trail behind Nash C.C. and that is INSANE, so I wasn't sure what I was getting into when my bro took me to the Collinswood Trail. I really liked it. If you're a XC rider it's not going to challenge your endurance, but if you're looking for fun and some decent-but-not-too-technical challenges it fits the bill. There are lots of good creek crossings (with makeshift bridges) and log crossings which test your skills. Some good downhills, short climbs and lots of twists & turns. I worked up a good sweat, enjoyed the ride and left with a smile. Kudos to the folks that put this trail together.

Customer Service

I've ridden the trail twice, once in each direction, and either way is good.

this is a fun trail and a good place to ride when you don't have a lot of time but would like a decent workout. my only complaint is that you kind of have to guess which direction to go and which trails to follow. i recommend this trail highly.

Customer Service

i have only ridden the trail counter-clockwise and it seems like a good direction to ride.

This is a very good loop for this part of the state (ie) no mountains. The loop is a nice fast single track with a few ups and downs, log crossings etc. No major elevation changes. If you live in this area or are passing through stop off and give it a try. Don't make a special trip if you live further west... take that hour and head towards the mountains. I'm giving this trail 5 wheels cause for the area its the best your gonna find. I think three is a little harsh IMHO

This is a fun ride! I was surprised to find something this fun in eastern NC. I travel all over the SE, and see a lot of trails. I expected this area to be too flat for a good ride.

There are no big climbs, but it certainly is not flat!

There were some obstacles but as stated below, all were fun, but none were challenging (except for the rather high plywood jump ramp which I think would have collapsed under my weight).

Rocky Mount has a nice trail here. But it could use some directional markings.

I wish I could rate it 4.5, but I guess a 5 will do.

Great Ride!!!

Note: The subdivision sign is no longer there. It is now a non-descript street with houses. Sorry, I forgot to get the name of the street. I don't think it is Collinswood.
