Tellico ORV trails - TRAIL

Tellico ORV trails - Trail, Murphy, Carolina

It's a ORV trail that means there are 4x4's,4wheelers and motorcycles there. They didn't really say anything about bikes being there just pointed and laughed. It's a very, very technical trail. If you fall in some spots you'll be in a helicopter on your way to Murphy Medical. If you're a advanced rider and looking for some fast, balls to the wall decending this is the place. Did I mention the rocks. Rocks, rocks and more rocks. #2 trail has a steep decent with 3 foot rock drops in it. School bus decent and guard rail decent are for the very advanced rider. Super steep and ROCKY (rear brake locked and still picking up to much speed) Keep a look out for ORV and give them the right away. It is there trail and they do all the work to keep it open. If you don't like OVR's don't go!!! Stop by the bike shop in Murphy and see if someone's going out there to ride. Don't go alone!!!!!

Moab of the East!! Tellico ORV area is now Tellico MTB area. The Trails are closed to all ORV traffic. All trails can be accessed by MTB without worrying about running up on all the traffic. These trails are a treasure that need to be ridden and maintained. There are about 35 miles of trail that range from easy dirt road to Very Technical. I have ridden all over the southeast and Will tell you these are some of the best. Scenery is spectacular as well. Lots of river crossings and deep tropical woods. If you like Pisgah, you will love this. Not as many roots but just as challenging. I grantee you will not leave disappointed. Help keep these trails alive and ride them. A good 14 mile rout (2.5 hour) would be to start on Trail 4 all the way to Fains Ford (river crossing. Shortly after veer Left on Trail 6. That will take you all the way down to County Line road and parking. Take a Left on the road back up the river and then take another Left just before large bridge. Fallow the river upstream about a mile and cross bridge to start hard rocky climb back up to trail 4. This time turn right on 4 and back track to where you started. This is just one loop that I would rate as moderately hard but extremely fun. There are tons of other loops and spurs that you can take but you better have a map or a guide. Enjoy!

Similar Products Used: Ocoee White Water Trails (Tanasi) are only about 30 min W of Murphy and a MUST!!!!

Hanging Dog is on the way to Tellico and much mor beginner friendly but a little boring.

Also some Great stuff in Blue Ridge GA (30 min SW of Murphy) that are great. "Flat Creek", "Stanley Gap", and "Green MTN" all worth trying.

I don't know my way around, I just follow Crazy Eddie's tires. Lots of fun if you don't mind pushin a little. Lots of wide-open technical terrain to cruise through. Several options that make for a good laugh if you wreck. Very little singletrack, but it's real fast and burly.

Schoolbus ridge should always be included

My review is great if you drive, lets say a JEEP for example. Do not ride this trail unless you want to deal with 4x4's little 4 wheelers and everything else with a motor. Its not for bikes. There is more safe riding such as Tsali.

Customer Service

The trail is for Off Road Vehicles! Not bikes!

rocks gallore, fast super steeps chutes that you dont stop on.schoolbus run is a must but you will not make it down without crashing if it starts raining like it did the last 2 times we road it. laughs will happen. if your into steep fast fun riding and arent afraid to climb to do it then this is a must do.dont waste your time with tsali(sally)unless you are a leg shaving roady. this is a great place for mountain bikes but you will meet atv's,jeeps, and dirt bikes(they even asked us for a chain tool, wrong size).id rather push a mnt bike.

This area is mainly used by atv's which I also happen to like, but if you wanted to ride a bike it would still be fun. You can get a trail map of the area by going to the site http://www.geocities.com/peteuga/tellico.html
