This is a great trail. I parked on FS road 982, drove in about a mile and parked to the left, there was a pull in with camping spots. I rode up the trail (it's the one with the huge dirt mounds/jumps) following it all the way to 181 across from FS road 496. Some spots were tight with over growth, some down trees, most the jumps were rotted out. Couple of fun small drops that were still doable. Biggest drop was probably 3-4 feet and was still doable. Took me 1.5 hours to get to the road and about 30 min to get all the way back down. Super fun. I would like to go in with a saw and shovel and clean up some areas.

The first time I rode this trail it was with the Swanee Dog and some of the hickhucksters. This was the conclusioin of the days trail ride and what a way to wrap it up. This was a great trail that flowed nicely and with some interesting jumps along the downhill. Since then my son and I came back and pushed up the probably one half mile to the good stuff from the bottom. We loved the natural log jumps and the air you can get from these. My son had a blown tire on the first trip and since then we learned to carry a spare. It's better to shuttle this ride but what a cost with gas at about $3.00 a gallon.

I'm not sure what else I could want from a run. A couple tiny climbs at the start gets you warmed up and ready for pure downhill sweetness. The last 300 yards of this run will have your squishy flowin, and your rotors glowin!!

Customer Service

Prepare to shuttle. There is no "fun" ride up.

The begining is kinda boring and full of switchbacks. Do not let this discourage you! Soon after going over the dirt hump thing near the edge of 181 you will be pleasured with sick downhill and dirt jumps! Trail also host a see-saw!

Customer Service

ride Ripshin ridge as a connection to Headleys. Run a shuttle and Park a car at the 1st campsite off to the left on fr 982 if you wish not to have a long and painfull ride up 181.

Fantastic, flowing trail. Lots of bumps and logs but placed well for uninterupted speed. Make sure your brakes are in good working order before you put on.

Customer Service

From the top to the bottom. Go fast. Don't stop. Do it again.

Headleys is a great during the week, after work ride. Trail condition are usually excellent thanks to some of the locals dedicated to trail maintenance. Thanks and please keep up the good work! Instant access to Hwy 181. Only mountain bikers cultered and cultivated in Raleighwood trails could find any fault with Headleys. For the rest of us lowly western NC riders, it is a local favorite.

Customer Service

As a loop and or attached to Raspberry, barkhouse, Rip Shin, and Steels Creek for some sweet long cross country down hill shuttling.

This trail kicks butt. It has lots of jumps to catch great air and is realy fast. I like it better if you shuttle up the gravel road at the end. But all in all it is a really great trial.

All one can say is WOW! This is a super fast trail. If your like Puff daddy, Puff mama, or the Banga you can get some serious bling-bling on these jumps. Ride your lazy butt up to the trailhead, then shuttle some beer at the bottom.

This has to be one of the better loops in the area. You get a good workout and have some fun on the downhill. Several good waterbars for jumping. The first part of this trail is a little soft but gets packed down quickly. The ride up hwy 181 is not that bad and I think it is less than 2 miles up. Just enough to get you warmed up for the downhill. This trail is on its way to being one of my favorites. If you are looking for a little more distance you could add the sinkhole and goat trail to make this a cery nice all day ride.

Customer Service

I started at the gravel road and rode up hwy 181 to get the uphill out of the way first. The follow as described above.

This trail Rocks! I rode it in the rain and it makes a great wet weather ride. The 2.5 mile climb up 181 is quick and well worth the 3 miles of singletrack. Once you reach the gravel road you turn right for a short 1.5 mile climb back to your car. My only complaint is there are two fallen trees that block a nice section of trail. Ride arounds are available but the main trail wold be so much better. I still give this trail 5 biguns. If you are looking for more than 7 miles you should add Sinkhole and the Goat trail.

Customer Service

I started at the entrance to the gravel road FS 982 and road up Hwy 181.
