Can't believe there are only 3 reviews posted for such an awesome trail.

I developed by mad MTB skillz (TM) when I lived in WNC...and having ridden damn near every trial in the state, I can say that this is definitely up there with the best of them. And considering the terrain they have to work with (no 5k-foot peaks in the Sauratowns, broseph), they've done more than could be reasonably expected.

While I can't say this is the best trail in the state, it's certainly the best within an hour of Greensboro, and might even crack the top 10 in the entire state, especially if Trace Ridge, et al. get any worse.

Great berms, switchbacks and a damn decent downhill are all on tap. Have fun.

Customer Service

Right at the beginning of both loops takes you on the best route.

Trails are a great combination of hand cut singletrack and machine cut, IMBA style trail with a mix of climbing, rocks, etc... Beautiful scenery. turned out to be a great singlespeed trail. Favorite section was "Land of the Lost" Super cool jungle feel with creek crossings on rock bridges. Stopped several times to soak in the scenery. Also the downhill on "Major Tom" was awesome fun, especially the second time around when I knew what was coming. Great trails. Oh, get your switchback skills down pat :-) We camped at the associated campground and met Tony, the primary trail builder. Great guy who has done some great work.

Customer Service

Counter Clockwise from Main Loop, to Land of the Lost, to Ground Control to Major Tom... You get the reference I am sure.

WOW! This trail has it all - flow, speed, climbs, berms, rock gardens, bridges, stream crossings. Definitely will be back to ride more as they are working on adding more miles to the 6 they already have.

Customer Service

I went counterclockwise, but it can be ridden in either direction. It should be easier clockwise as most of the rock gardens I came to were on the climbs.

Moore's Springs Trails is the top growing trail system in the piedmont and foothills of NC. This trail system has over six miles of technical rock gardens, sustained climbs, fast downhills, several creek crossings, tight switchbacks, elevated bridges, and several other cool features you just don't find in the average trail. There is a new trail that is currently being built on the north side of Moore's Springs Road that links the farmhouse to the campground. (You need to visit and you will understand!) MST is built right using IMBA standards to ensure trail sustainability for decades to come and the system is expanding virtually every week thanks to a hard working, volunteer trail crew that works tirelessly to put Stokes County on the map of biking destinations. MST is a hub for other area activities with a campground that has access to the Dan River for canoeing and kyaking. The campground is also minutes from hiking (and swimming in the summer months) at Hanging Rock State Park. Ask the campground director for various road biking routes on country roads that provides great views of the countryside with minimal traffic.

Park at the Farmhouse near the bridge on the opposite side of the road from the campground and the trailhead is to the right. The race route is counterclockwise, which most riders choose, but I prefer the other direction. The initial climb through Kessel Run and up Major Tom is a killer, but the ride down the backside in the Land of the Lost is fantastic!! The rock gardens are a little easier too!
