The Vista trail is the best maintained trail. It offers some fast sections with rolling hills. The diamond trail offers some technical sections, including mud and roots. The trails are well marked and maps are available. The biggest problem with the area is that the soil retains water for a long time, so the trails stay muddy for several days after a rain, and some sections are always muddy.

Customer Service

Vista trail to East trail to Arab Junction. From Arab, follow the diamond trail.

This is a fun trail, quite a lot of climbing, more roots than anywhere I have ever been, and plenty of pine needles to stick to the mud which sticks to your tires.... Plenty of steep uphill climbing, and some very fun downhill "fire roads." It is really well marked and there is something here for everyone.

The long trail incorporates a wonderful muddy roots section and a sinewy downhill singletrack that I love to ride. One caveat: this all takes you to the lowest point way on the outskirts of the park so there so you have to climb back to your car. Not only is the climb a granny gear, singletrack killer, but it's about 7 miles out so your legs are already tired, even if you ride easy! Hey don't let it disuade you, this is great eastcoast riding, and I have been to the 'dacks, Maine, Vermont and CT.

Customer Service

Depends on how long you would like to ride.
I wholly recommend that the longest trail be taken. The name escapes me right now, but there are plenty of maps and markings

It has some very interesting parts but when it is slightly wet anywhere else it is a lake here. And there are a lot of roots sticking out everywhere. I do like to go there somtimes, but I always get lost. There are trails everywhere. You cant ride more than a few hundred feet without another intersection. A lot of it is great but you can get lost very easy if you stray from the main trails. GET A MAP!!!

Customer Service

The truth is I dont know the place that well. Even though I have probably been everywhere there. It is just to confusing to remember

Not many single-tracks here. Mostly cross-country ski trails and fire roads. Very, very wet when it rains. Some decent riding is available here. This place is huge...it is very easy to get lost. There are no signs, many intersections, and trails that disappear while your riding on them (not kidding). Highly recommend a map, marking your path or GPS. I have spent the night there before!

I'm not sure if I biked Highland County Park or Highland Forest, maybe a bit of both. This place is definately a ski resort in winter. When you get into the place you're in a wooded glade with three or four huge wodden arches over the trails that go out in different directions. There are some good trails, but watch out early in the year (when I went) it was pretty wet. Its all pretty wide and clear, sometimes its easy to get lost though, the place is huge. Just grab a map from the tourist box where you're supposed to write down your name and when you entered. This is more of an endurance course than a really challenging mountain bike trail but I definately had a good time there. For more experienced bikers who are looking for technical singletrack I would recommend the quarry.
