Tons of singletrack, technical uphill sections, and a few steep DH spots. Great for XC and there's fun to be had for our more 'extreme' brethren as well. A very nice tail network with a few different loops.

There is also a less know section accessed from Pond Gut road, which dead ends into the trailhead. This side is steeper and more technical then the Tyrrel side--wouldn't recommend it for beginners.

Customer Service

From Tyrrel Road:

Descend from the parking lot and take a left at the bottom of the hill. Once on this trail take either the 1st or second left (Both will take you the same double track, just though different routes). Take a right onto the jeep road when you get there, climb a hill, and take a left at the top. This trail loops through the woods and down to the jeep road again. Take a left onto the jeep road, followed by a left onto Bikehead, near an old brick chimney. A nice climb with some nice terrain on the way down. When you reach the jeep road again, take a left, climb to the other parking lot, and take the single track that leaves it. This will close the loop with some nice rolling terrain and semi-technical climbs.

Should you get lost, whatever trail you're on will likely lead to the jeep road. Follow it in either direction and you will find civilization :D

From Pond Gut rd

Follow the jeep double track out (watch out for broken glass at the trailhead, it's a teen party spot) and take the left up a loose rocky hill. The trail will quickly level off and resent a choice; choose left for a direct leg burning climb. At the top continue on some nice rolling singletrack which connects to the Tyrrel side of 909. Choose right for a nice section of singletrack that connects to the trail below
Alternatively, take the jeep road from the trailhead about 1.5 miles into the woods and take the left by the handicaped accessible sign. Here begins a steep technical climb broken into shorter sections. This trail will eventually (3 mi or so) connect you to the jeep road on the Tyrrel side of 909.

May 28th was the first time I ever rode the 909 trail, and believe me, this is a SICK SICK trail and I plan on going again and again and again..... DO NOT stick to the main trails that the ATV's cut...you gotta go through the offshoots; thats where the singletraks are, and combined theres about 15-20 miles of them. And they're awesome. Only problem with doing that is that you may get lost...my buddy and I were lost for almost 3 hours and it was starting to get dark/rain. Which made it even more fun. Didn't see any "sweet jumps" (napolean dynamite voice) and the "bridges" are rocks set up in the middle of streams.

Customer Service

Taconic North past poughkeepsie, make right on Tyrell Road. DO NOT TAKE THE "SUDDEN DEATH RIGHT TURN" ONTO THE DIRT TRAIL DIRECTLY FROM THE HIGHWAY! You can get to the trail from an actual intersection without causing a 20 car pile-up. Then go to end of Tyrell Road and park in that little dirt area on the right. And enjoy

the "909" has something for everyone. It has nice fire roads for the beginner. I has fast downhill sections. I has some serious climbs and some screaming downhills with stream crossings and mini bridges. The trails are color code marked and the is a trail map available on Bikerag.com. There is a loop that can be connected to form approx. 10mile ride. But with some exploring you could ride for hours. and I must say that " Bike Head" is the BOMB!

Customer Service

Start at either the Taconic entrance or tyrell rd. go north and the trail will loop around he property. I haven't quite figured out all of the trails yet.
