Carriage trails. Fairly wide and easy. Some decent hills and loose gravel. Exposed rock and rain ruts abound. Excellent views.

There are no technical part of the trail. The difficulty really depends. If you drive to the top, there is not much biking effort for you to do. If park by the main entrance and bike up to the top. The incline just gets harder and harder. at least for beginner's like me and my wife. The top has beautiful, beautiful sceneries! Picnic up there is very nice. Bring your trunk, you can go into the lake for a nice dip in between your rides.

Similar Products Used: About 2 mile before the main entrance is Mohonk Preserve, couple different trails there from easy 5 mile to hard up hill trails.

Absolutely gourgeous. It might not be chalenging, but oh man, it's so beautiful. There are two lakes, and 4 long trails. The round trip is about 10 miles up and down. Be sure to come on a sunny day and bring your camera.

Cost about 5 Bucks a vehicle to get in and park. Maps provided. Well kept, clean park. Many hikers etc. But Never crowded past first mile or so. Not real technicle or overly challenging but so beautiful it must not be missed. Nice fast moving areas and enjoyable terrain. I take my bike. My wife takes her horse. Rocks, roots, ruts. It's all there for your full susension to smile about but my old rigid cruised it fine. Many lookout points to enjoy. Bring lunch.

Nice trails with fire roads and awesome scenic beauty. Some may say that the trails are weak, but there are plenty of technical sections and fast singletracks not published on the "official" maps. Nice place to ride.

Customer Service

Rt 209 through Ellenville, right on Rt 44&55 (Go past the Vernooeykill river). Few miles up the mountain, right into the park (Two lots to park in)

I wrote a review of these trails a few years back. These "carriage trails" are now seen in a different light after riding real carriage trails in Acadia Nat'l Park. You could play pool on the trails in Acadia. They were 18 feet wide, an 18 wheeler could pass without difficulty. Minnewaska's trails, while not singletrack, have character. The views are better than those at Acadia. Despite any negative comments from the riders that are too good for these trails, I have found them to be a great "battery recharger", and have made this my favorite destination. I have enough steep, slippery, rocky, rooty singletrack near my home. This place is a hoot to ride.

Customer Service

Yellow out, Blue Back, with a side trip to the nose.

Similar Products Used: The trails connect with Mohonk Preserve Trails, but they are expensive to ride on and the tales of nasty patrols have kept me away.

this place was horrendous 90% constant uphills, 10% downhill. the downhills were not worth trooping it and driving 2 hours. too many hikers on the trails. but beautiful scenery.

Customer Service

get off at exit 18 not 17 to hop on 299 before you hit the 44/55
