love riding Sherrill brook park, trails are fast come summer time.
It takes some skill level to ride these trails. So if you are just starting out enjoy the view, as your skills improves then you will be able jam trails. On a personal note, I would love to see the park geared toward downhill riding for people with long travel bikes, maybe set aside time for riders with these type of bikes. But as it is, we are lucky to even have a place to go that is so close, and i am thankful for that.

well i kinda just go where it hits to go. i will say this riding to rock that over sees trails is sweet just look for huge power lines and go up.
i am not sure the name of this trail it appears to be a hikers and bikers trail, and when its dry its very fast and has quick right hand turn so keep your head up or you will right down and over the bank, enjoy.

I would say that the trails difficulty comes in the uphills. There are few roots and turns that can get in the way, but that is why we have so many gears, right? I would have to disagree in saying that the 4-wheel trails take away the ride because there are still challenges for us. And powering through there ruts at the bottom a ravine and then back up the hill is another challenge as well.

When you go into the park take a right and park by the volleyball court. Go down the pavement next to the v-balls pavillion and there is a trailhead. Ride the topridge till you go down and up over a bridge. This is probably the "most-difficult" that I find on the trail b/c its a 90 deg. hop onto a bridge, then hop off into mud and another 90 deg turn (or more) uphill.
Other than that, the park is still fun to explore. And there is another down-over-uphill through a drainage that is difficult. But do check it out if you're a CNYer

Trenton Falls Gorge Trail. Hald of the trail is posted by a powerline company, which is bogus, and the other have is this local guy who lives on Dover rd and has horses. He's cool and encourages people to go up there. One more thing, there is a little logging going on there that could piss you off, it did me.

For those in Utica this is a handy spot if you're short on time. Good place to train for a XC rider. Few if any technical challenges. The trails are very wide (with a couple exceptions), but many of them have a lot of roots.

If it weren't for the roots and some rain or snow there wouldn't be much point of riding here unless you're new to the sport. I ride here late in the season when the snow farher north is too deep and not too much has fallen here yet.

Short, but can be muddy, there is one challenging section along a gorge. The rest is pretty easy, but definitely fun. This is a nice offroad to include in an on/off road excursion. There are several unexplored/unused trails which ride along steep dropoffs if you want to explore, but they are short and dead-end in strage places. Most challenging part of the ride will be getting there on a bike up Tibbets or Red Hill Road or others, huf-puf.

I would give the trails here negative starts if I could. I used to ride them 3-4 times a week until they were torn-up by 4-wheelers. You spend more time hiking around 3 foot deep mud pits than biking(discouraging for a beginner or expert). The single tracks referred to have all been widened to accomodate the 4-wheelers. It's not worth your time.

I allways had alot of fun riding there. there are alot of fun steep drops down into the creeks. There are sections that are wide for dirt bikes and 4-wheelers, but that is a very small part of the park. It is possible to ride there for 3-4 hours and not fully explore every inch of the park. you will make lots of loops, but it is still fun. Where else can you get this much fun riding in 10 minutes from downtown Utica?

I am looking forward to going back to visit soon.

Waz up to all my down hill buddies.
