This is a very basic, flat trail. Bicycles are actually NOT allowed because of some local law...however, if you live in New City, as I do, it's the only place withing biking distance. Plus, there are very few people on the trails, and they are wide enough to pass them safely. Theres a cool pond/creek and old stone bridge after you pass by the golf course. Get of you bike and take a walk down to the water...its kinda cool!

There's nobody patrolling the area, so if you just yield to the pedestrians, you should be fine.

Since I live in New City and there's absolutely NO MOUNTAIN BIKING places within a five mile radius of my house I have been limited to this humble trail. It is very easy and gets quite boring after you've ridden it 2000 times as I have. But again, there's no other places to ride so I'll keep on trekking...

Mountain biking on this trail is illegal!!! You should respect the sport and the local laws and stay off. During the summer, the trails are patroled. If caught, you may lose your bike and WILL be prosecuted!!! The trails are not worth the risks.

I actually rode these trail as a small kid before they put up the new houses of little-tor road. Back then they seemed great. However, it is illegal to ride on them and they do get a fair amount of traffic. Many people walk up there in groups with their dogs and ride horses. It seems that the towns parks have made efforts to improve he trail and have re-layed it with wood chips, a nice surface for walkers. As an avid Mtn biker I would highly recommend not riding there to keep "us" in a psitive light and to maintain and not ruin the trail

as for other MTB routes near New City, they can be found, you can link them with some road rides, try Cheesecoate (off Willow Grove in Pomona), or there is a super-tough trail off behind Ramaqouis (enter on Diltz Road) if you can do this without getting off, you are good. There are two gravel which link Pomona Road with 202 near the Mount Ivy Diner. Nothing spectacular, but you can indeed get dirty within 5 miles of New City.
