Lippman Park - Trail, Ellenville, York

Lippman Park - Trail, Ellenville, York

DESCRIPTION

A new trail system with something for everyone. Just last year we started work with the local town officials to develop a network of single track in Lippman Park. To date we have about 14 miles with more being added all the time.
We have plenty of man-made features, log skinnies, bermed turns and bridges. In the spring of 2011 we will be adding a 65 foot suspended bridge over one of the small ravines.

I finally made it to Lippman!. Good thing I did. Excellent trails and well maintained. I ride Stewart MTA and Taconic Hereford and Lippman is everything those places aren't. Tight twisty single track with off cant sections and fast. I grew up on Long Island single track and Cathedral Pines is the flat version of Lippman. So for me it was like coming home. I love the place. Can't wait to go back and ride it all. I think there is about 15 mil;es of single track in the park. will ride it all and update my review then.. but very fun. nothing to scary. good for all levels and trails are well marked.

warm up on crazeee 8's and start heading up the hill eventually you will find your way back. The trails all brach out off of the fire road around the lake. Very well marked and the color coding is spot on green being easiest. Black being hardest. There are skinnies and lots of bridges and other features.

Lippman Park has many awesome trails. Each trail seems to have its own character. Some are fast and flowy, some rocky and rooty, others tight and twisty. Two fun trails (5 and 7) tend to be somewhat rough while climbing or descending. Trails 15 and 16 are fast and flowy. Trail 17 has lots of twists and turns.

Customer Service

I would suggest hooking up with someone who knows the trails, or check out the renegadesmtb.com website or facebook page. They usually have a group ride there once a week. If you are unable to hook up, print a map from their website and ride the trails in progression for starting with trail 1.

These trails were built in BMX style. They have a lot of turns, utilizing every inch of the park witha bit of butchery. They put a lot of time into trial building, but I'm afraid they are slow and have no flow. They tend to be a bit frustrating because everytime you want to open up with some speed your sent between two trees about half the width of your bars. or are constantly turning 180 degrees.. Sadley, very unsatisfying.

This trails are very well marked and the whole place is a lot of fun. I've been twice and will definitely be going back. I enjoyed trails 15, 16, 17 a lot, but all trails were good. I think there is something for everyone here from the beginner to the advanced rider.

These trails are awesome! They offer something for everyone from flat and flowy to technical rooty and rocky. This year I began to ride a SS and this is my favorite place to come, enough elevation gain to get my lungs working but not to hard to scare me from riding.
The Renegades also do a great job maintaining these trails when the weather doesn't completely sabotage things and then they work hard to fix them or reroute them to a better area if needs be.

Customer Service

All the trails are fun but I enjoy 16, 15, 6 and 7.
