Stone Valley - Trail, Colton, York

Stone Valley - Trail, Colton, York

DESCRIPTION

Very technical single track. Lots of roots, rocks, logs and usually some muddy sections. There is the infamous Psyco Trail (I won't tell you where it is, you'll have to find it) that has some drops over small "cliffs" and rock outcroppings. Please leave all trails as you found them! Do not remove rocks and logs that were placed/left there to help prevent errosion of the trail. Please be curtious and share the trail with walkers.

A ton of fun nearby, with stuff to offer to everyone. AM heaven, hike a bike DH gnar, some killer flow trails, and enough mileage for awesome xc loops. On both side of Lenny Rd theres a killer growing network of trails that keep on getting better. I swear every time I ride there I find a new little nugget that just makes my day. Good trails and at Stone Valley with some swimming and killer views, just watch for hikers. Across the road they've put in massive amounts of work in the Ledges trails. Also, about 5 miles down the road at Seven Springs (High Flats state forest) the Clarkson DH team has been putting in some work on their old ski hill with some righteous XC loops, 3-4 DH trails, and rumours of a machine made dual slalom course.

Customer Service

Start near the fire station and stay left on the trails, there's a few sections you will have to carry the bike but there's more gravity based rewards this way. Awesome swimming spot about midway.

Ledges across the road is my favorite local spot, and Seven Springs down the road has some good gnar and flow trails to mix it up on your big bike.

Where your helmet and don't plan on being able to ride everything. Even the locals have difficulty doing that. If you can ride here without getting ejected once or twice you're a good technical rider. Not recommended for those who are faint of heart.

However, the trails do offer some great views of the Raquette River, have an abondance of wild life and a good workout. There are many short steep hills, the only long climb and decent is on the "Psyco Trail". If you're questioning your ability, walk the trails first to judge if you can ride them.

Holy Shit! This trail is nuts. I went there today and I consider myself to be a good rider and I actually took my first trip over the handlebars. I definately recommend you ride it at least once to see what it has to offer. There is a lot of easy stuff, but everyonce in awhile there is some hairy sections.

For advanced riders only. I personally can ride everything so far, but I wouldn't recomend it. There are lots of rocks and roots that want to flip you so be on guard.

Customer Service

Start on Lenny road at the first entrance from Pdam. As stated before, you gotta find the Pscyco trail yourself!!!

This is a 7 mile loop of advanced technical single track. Unless you are Hans Rey, you will have to get off your bike in a few sections. Overall, the trail has real nice flow. Not alot of sustained elevation change but alot of quick climbs and desents. The trail follows the Raquette River and has some great waterfalls to check out as well as some awesome swimming holes. The O'Mailey brook trail and Legde/Psycho trails are in this area too. To complete all the trails takes about two hours.

Customer Service

Start at Brown's Bridge and ride the loop counter clockwise. This is not super important, both directions are fun!!
