Good riding on the white, blue, and yellow trails. Roots, small rock drops, fallen trees, rock gardens. The park is small, but there is an abundance of trails in it. Plus a few little unmarked footpaths that offer some nice riding. You can explore most of the park without concern of getting lost.

Ride the white to the blue, go up to the blue and yellow, down the steps, loop around up the red to the yellow, cross the road, take the yellow around the back of highlawn pavillion, pop out on a beat up road.

Just explore. Very hard to get lost, so enjoy! I am working on mapping out a loop with mileage. Will update the review once I have that.

One recommendation: parts of this park get very wet when it rains, so there are sections I would avoid after rain. Well, unless you don't mind riding in a bog....

Very nice spot to get in a quick ride before or after work!

While Stranded at my wife's friends place with her fiancee who preferred football-watching on a sunny day - I road down the street to this trail. It was really nice. I ride up in New England and it was fairly similar. I did 12 miles in total including the short road ride to and from where I was staying. I did a couple of the trails 2 or 3 times. I'll bet you could put together 7 or 8 miles of trails in here. The trails were fast and the transitions across the fire roads were well crafted especially on the blue trail. Plenty of rocks, roots and fallen trees to cross. Some sections were very technical. I enjoyed it allot. There wasn't anything impossible, but it was still very challenging. Some great jumps here and there. The staircase over on the Yellow trail sneaks up on you. If you live in the area and you want some after work XC this is the place to go. I'll be riding this place again next time I'm in NJ.

Blue and White trails were the best. There is a main parking lot. I rode in at the corner of Eagle Rock and Prospect. There is a single track right there and just began exploring. I wouldn't worry too much about it being illegal in there. I met some local riders who had been riding in there since the 1990's and they said that efforts were being made to make the park ride legal. I saw some hikers. No sass from them at all.

What can I say... this is what you get for someplace that is cheap (free) and not maintained by any organization. It is extremely dangerous since the trail isn't even groomed and going above 5mph is too fast. Might as well walk down the trail cause this is mountain climbing. I ride regularly at Snowshoe Park in Virginia, Diablo Mountain, and Whistler. I thought it might be a good place to get my bike dialed in but it turned out to be a disaster. There are no trail heads and no signs. If you break a leg or ruin your bike, it is hours of walking. I would not recommend this to anyone since it is in the middle of nowhere and in a reservation.

overall i'd say this is a good trail, not very hard to ride, and there are a few different routes to take. Just watch out for the county sheriffs and you'll be good. There are a few rocky spots, but nothing too technical. Also, it's easy to get lost, but its still easy to find your way. A fun place to explore the different routes and have some fun without getting too beat up.

This park is officially closed to Mt Bikes....Unofficially it's a nice place for a quick after work ride. Someone has built some new trails and a few obstacles which are alot of fun. I know we shouldn't be riding these trails due to them beiung closed but......

I lived in Montclair in 2001. Discovered these trails before I knew they were closed. Rode them a few times after that. They're not groomed much at all, but the riding still isn't that difficult. There's one section of stairs that can be fun to ride down. I encountered people walking dogs and horseback riders, and nobody ever told me the trails were closed. So it seems like if you respect the rights of other trail users, you can get a quick workout here. I heard from some fellow riders at a local bike shop that rangers sometimes patrol and will fine you, but like I said, I never experienced any negative effects from riding here.

Any .. you can't get lost and if you do you'll pop out on a road soon enough.

Similar Products Used: Not much within riding distance, but Ringwood and Waywayanda are just a 30-40 min car ride away.

I recomend eagle rock to any intermediate mountain bikers. It's good riding fulled with lots of rocky areas, logs, hills, and on the blue trail there is a nice 6 foot high 15 feet long bridge which is fun to ride. Not hard to get lost here, blazes are every couple of feet and roads are all around the reservation.
