Garrett Mountain Reservation - TRAIL

Garrett Mountain Reservation - Trail, West Paterson, Jersey

Lots of variety and lots of surprises in this place which offers creeks, woods and views of NYC and Paterson. Mostly narrow trails. Tough, technical climbs, and fast, short downhills with unexpected drops. Also quite a few carriage trails, which are fun. Fun, tough place. Totally unexpected. And you can go on the main road on your bike and head south to extend your ride at Rifle Camp Park.

Got shut down to mt biking last summer. Coppers getting a little over zealous with enforcement. Too bad. Good trails, but ya gotta stay off the main paths. Same with Rifle Camp Park. Lots of little drops, rocks, obstacles. Fun for a quick ride if you cant go up to Ringwood.

great place to ride. on inclimate weather days barely any people around so you can get speeds up to around 25mph on the trails. technical. lots of hidden trails, dropoffs, just have to look in the right spots. Very rocky in places, loose gravel in some places, but mostly hard packed dirt/gravel. tough climbs

Not nearly enough trails, just a bit to get you excited, but nothing great. However, it is only 20 minutes from Hoboken. However you would have more fun at White Castle or Secaucus BMX track for jumping!! The view of the city was nice and there will not be any other bikers around. Good for beginners!!

slim selection of trails and trails do end abruptly.
